Chapter 29

This is it guys, the final chapter! Thank you for reading all this way if you did, I hope the story was enjoyable, and that you're all just as happy as I am. The past few weeks I've been working hard to get this story done, and suffice to say, it really reignited that spark I had been missing in writing. So thank you all again for being so patient with me, and for supporting my story. I do have another fanfic or two in my brain that I'd love to work on, and some one-shots inspired by this very story that I might post later this year! But for now, I think I am going to put fanfic aside and start focusing on my own original work. I will be back! I have a feeling that this isn't the end of my Sonic fanfics, but for now, this is a temporary goodbye. I'll post now and then to promote my work if anything happens with it, but otherwise, I'll see you all on the other side!

Haven Out!!!

The last thing (Y/N) could remember was seeing a large piece of slab falling towards Sonic, her body had moved on it's own, she remembers pushing him out of the way. There was dust everywhere, Sonic was there with a look of horror in his eyes, like he was reliving something from his past. She said something to him, hopefully to calm him down, and then everything went black.

Anything after that was just sounds, booming in the distance, a squeak at some point, and then what felt like a bright light and a nice breeze hitting her face. The (a/t) could feel herself floating, tumbling, floating again, and then slowly the darkness began to fade.

(Y/N) opened her eyes slowly, her vision blurry for a while as she tried to take in her surroundings. A soft beeping noise could be heard to her right, and it felt like she was lying in a bed. Her eyes focused and she could see she was in some sort of make-shift hospital room. A desk covered in papers and a laptop sat in the far corner, and there were shelves upon shelves everywhere, covered in what looked like small creations and trinkets, confirming to the (a/t) that it was most likely Tails' workshop instead. Though how they got the medical equipment was a mystery.

She lifted her head, noticing that no one was in the room, and wondering where everyone was. Her brain felt foggy as the (a/t) tried to recall the events that happened before this room. They were... Fighting a robot... Saving... Her family!

Her eyes widened and she went to sit upright, only for a sharp pain to shoot up her back and she let out a gasp of pain.

A hand gently touched her shoulder, slowly pushing her back into a lying position. Sonic was there now, leaning over the side of the bed and looking at her with worry,

"It's okay (Y/N). We're safe. Try to stay still and relax." He said, taking a seat next to the bed. He had stolen the chair from the desk across the room, the (a/t) tried to figure out when exactly, but knowing Sonic, it happened as soon as he was in the room.

With nothing else to do, she followed Sonic's orders and laid back down, letting out a sigh as she tried to relax her sore body,

"What... Happened?" She asked, images flashing through her mind, but not making much sense.

Sonic's ears lowered slightly, and he let out a sigh, "Well, you saved me from some falling debris, that's for sure. Though you do know I am the fastest thing alive right? I could have dodged it."

"You... Weren't paying attention..." (Y/N) recalled.

"And as a result, you got caught under it." Sonic said, "Your legs were crushed and you may have had internal bleeding at some point. I- I got us our of there as soon as I could and brought you straight back to Haven. She can heal but... It's limited. She was able to stop any internal bleeding you had, and saved your legs from... From needing to be..."
