"Dad, Tita Dawn sent me Ninong Chard's number." sabi ni Vida nang makababa sa hagdan.
She's all dressed up for a little get-together with the Aranetas today. They arranged a celebration for her moving-up ceremony.
"Okay, send it me, darling." sabi ni Greggy at inayos ang polo.
It was Vida's idea to ask for Richard's help, he is a private investigator and her Tita Dawn's ex. She sent Richard's number to her father, agad naman itong tinawagan ni Greggy. She already gave a heads-up to Richard that Greggy will be calling him.
"Oh. Tinawagan ka na pala ng inaanak mo. I hope we'll work together to find Irene faster... Sige. Salamat, pare."
Lumapit si Vida sa ama para madinig kung ano ang sinasabi ng Ninong niya.
"Of course, pare. I'll have my men work with us... Hopefully, makasagap na tayo ng balita tungkol kay Irene. Everything for my inaanak." rinig niyang sabi ng kabilang linya.
Then their phone call ended. Gumayak na sila kasi kukunin pa nila si Anne sa bahay nito. Hannah won't be coming with them since she's at her father's place.
Two months na since walang paramdam si Irene pero hindi pa rin sila sumusuko. It might be less cries and sobs for Vida but never less pain. Nag-aantay pa rin siya. She's very eager to find her Mom. She knows that she's not losing hope anytime soon.
"Nandun na daw sila Tita Pat at Tita Elvira mo, pati rin si Lolo mo. I hope you get along with anyone else?"
Nilingon ni Vida ang ama at nagkibit-balikat. "If they just get a little nicer, Dad..."
Greggy sighed in defeat, he knows he can never win against what Vida says. Nag-aantay na sa labas ng establisyemento si Anne nang dinaanan nila ito. Anne gifted her costumized Hermes bag for her graduation. Kasabay din nila itong mag-celebrate pagkatapos ng seremonya.
Ngayong araw ipapakilala ni Greggy si Anne sa pamilya niya, hopefully it will go well.
"Hon, she's using the bag you gave her." sabi ni Greggy sa nobya.
Dumungaw si Anne sa shotgun seat para tignan, agad siyang ngumiti nang makita na ginagamit nga
ito ni Vida.
"It really fits on you, V." puri niya.
Vida smiled. "Thank you, Tita."
She glanced at the bag that has her name embroidered on it. Maganda ito, bagay sa edad niya. She heard that this is too pricey.
Agad silang nakarating sa mansyon ng mga Araneta. Maraming kotse ang nakahilera sa labas, mukhang sila na lang ata ang inaantay.
Sinalubong si Vida ng yakap galing sa Lolo niya, she's very dear to him, especially that she's the only daughter of his only son.
"I missed you, Georgie... Congratulations, darling.." sambit ni Don Luis sa kanya.
"Thank you, Lolo. I missed you too," she replied.
Her aunts and uncles greeted her, pati rin ang mga pinsan niya. They all settled down. Pinakilala ng ama niya si Anne sa lahat ng tao na naroon. She felt a little pang on her heart kahit na masaya naman siya para sa ama.
She badly wants to get mad at Anne, dahil kinuha niya ang katiting na pag-asa para magbalikan ang mga magulang niya... But she just can't. Sobrang bait ng pakikitungo ni Anne sa kanya. She's very loving... and she cares for her like she's her real daughter.
"We heard that you're the highest honor in your batch... Congratulations, Vida!" sabi ng Tita Pat niya.
She smiled a little and nodded. "Thank you, Tita."
