A/N: guys I'm terribly embarrassed. I found this in my year 8 (7th grade) online covid work thing and I ACTUALLY SUBMITTED THIS TO MY FUCKING TEACHER. I literally turned in a venti fanfic for a creative writing assignment. If I'm gonna kms over that I may as well post it for you guys
The fireworks illuminated the sky, the vibrant colours reflecting in Venti's eyes. "It's beautiful," He whispered under his breath in pure awe. I looked back away from him and at the show in front of us. The wind blew in our direction, picking up the sent of cider and mulled wine. it wasn't really cold but considering its early november, it was enough to send chills down our spines, our source of warmth being the blanket draped over our shoulders.
Despite the loud sounds echoing through the country, the atmosphere was peaceful. Hearing the children gasp
at the sight and the muffled voices barely heard over the cacophony of fireworks erupting from all directions.
My heart tightened with an indescribable emotion as i sat there with Venti wrapped in my arms as we took in
the surreal moment we were in. I never wanted it to come to an end. I want to stay in this moment forever- but
unfortunately that wasnt possible. The fireworks died down after a while and the crowd started to flood out of
the park. There would still be the occasional pop coming from the sky but apart from that, it was over.
"Are you ready to go home?" Venti asked, turning his head slightly to look up at me. I wanted to tell him i wasnt ready and that I wanted to stay longer, but i spoke on impulse.
"Yeah, let's go," He slowly sat up, gathering the things we brought-books, sparklers, small snacks-
up, holding out his hand to me so I took it and he helped me stand up.
It was quiet now. No more fireworks or people talking. Only think we could hear was the chirp of crickets and
the passing cars, Until next year, i suppose.
