Ferberizing

Description- You and Billy have been parents for a few months now. You and Billy agreed the ferberize the baby and after you made him not get her you woke up to him crying

Baby's name- Jennifer (Jenn) (after Billy's mother)

Me and Billy were sat on the couch while Billy fed Jenn a bottle

"Billy, do you remember what we talked about?" He looked up and raised his eyebrows

"We talk about a lot of stuff." I put my hands in my lap and turned my whole body towards him

"About ferberizing the baby, how if she cries your not gonna run to her side and comfort her, and we're gonna let her cry it out."
Billy groaned and looked down at the baby

"I know we've been doing it for weeks." I laughed and then noticed he wasn't laughing

"Billy I have been doing it for weeks and I keep telling you don't get her let her be but you get up and you get her and shush her until she falls asleep again." Billy pouted then I smiled while shaking my head "There's nothing you can do to change my mind."

"Fine she's already asleep so I'm gonna go put her to bed." I smiled and went upstairs right behind him

"Well I've already gotten my shower so I'm going to bed." Billy nodded and gave me a kiss before he went in the nursery

I laid down and waited for Billy to come to bed which took him quite a while

"What took you so long to come to bed?" He shrugged and laid down next to me

"I don't know." I laid on his chest and turned off the baby monitor to it wouldn't disturb our sleeping

"I know you don't want to do this but it's the right thing to do." Billy smiled and nodded when we both went to sleep well I went to sleep

I woke up to the sound of two different crying the crying of a Jenn and the crying of Billy

"Billy I thought I turned that thing off." I sat up and turned on the lamp next to the bed to see Billy sobbing

"I had to turn it on what if someone came in there and got her plus I can't sleep without it on." I wiped away his tears and I placed a kiss to his forehead

"Billy I know why you turned it on and I'm not mad I know you want to go and let her know everything's alright but if you keep doing that she's gonna think that your gonna run to her side every time she lets out a whine." Billy looked and me like I was dumb

"But I want to run to her side every time she whines." I smiled and grabbed the baby monitor and turned it off for the second time tonight

"But you don't need to if she cries it out then she'll go back to sleep and not worry about it anymore. Plus when you run to her side like that it's cutting into your own sleep time."
I looked into Billy's red puffy eyes and placed a kiss on his lips

"All it's doing is helping her and us if we don't ferberize her then it's gonna be damaging for all of us." I climbed into Billy's lap and put my hands on his shoulders

"You don't get it though." I laughed and moved my hands from his shoulders to his cheeks and made him look at me

"Do you honestly think it doesn't hurt me to listen to her bawl her little eyes out? It does hurt for me to hear that but all I want is the best for our daughter and if that means having to listen to her cry then I'll do it." I looked into Billy's beautiful blue eyes and I could tell he still wanted to go check up on her

"Oh for fucks sake go get her." He smiled then I got off his lap and he practically ran to Jenn's room

He came back and he was smiling and she had her little cheek pressed up against Billy's bare chest

"Damn she's got you wrapped around her finger." Billy opened his mouth offended and handed her to me so I could feed her

"She does not." He was so defensive about it that it was funny but I just raised my hand in defeat and started to feed her

"I wish I had boobs so that way I could feed her. Then me and her would be inseparable."
I laughed and shook my head at him

"See, wrapped around her little baby fingers." Billy smiled and rolled his eyes then he watched as she slowly fell back asleep

"You know she's a weird baby." Billy looked defensive that I'd be talking about his baby like that

"You better shut up bitch." I raised my eyebrows and scoffed then Billy realized what happened "Sorry I get defensive when people talk crap about my child. How is she weird?"

"Well she will go to sleep and then she'll wake up in the middle of the night not to be changed or anything but just to be fed then she goes back to sleep or is that normal." Billy shrugged his shoulders and looked down at the peacefully sleeping baby
