Chapter 23

Penelope's POV Four days later

I'm slowly falling asleep as I stroke Gray's hair as he lays on top of me. He kisses my arm and looks up at me. "It's been four days sunshine" I chuckle. "Did you really keep track?" He pulls away slightly, looking offended. "Of course I did, I've been wanting to sleep next to my girl" I blush and push him back down on me. "Then go to sleep, I'm tired" He smiles and softly kisses my chest and holds me tighter against him.

"You sleep as well, tomorrow I'll punish you for those four days" I smile and nod. "Looking forward to being punish, may I ask how you'll punish me" I feel him smile against my chest. "I'm going to edge you at first and then I'll overstimulate you" I blush and hold him tighter. "Can't wait then" He laughs softly. "I know, I can feel how hard your nipples are" I smack his head gently. "Shush, sleep" He nods. "Goodnight sunshine" I smile softly. "Night thumper"

"Thank you so much Adam" I smile softly at him as I walked back into my office, with him trailing behind me. "The flowers looked so beautiful" He chuckles and smiles at me. "I'm glad you like them Pen, and you know the flowers aren't the only thing that looks beautiful" He looks at me as he says that and I give him a tight smile. "Thank you Adam but-" He interrupts me. "Yes I know, you don't date, but it could be a one time thing?" I shake my head.

"No because I'm dating someone" He nods his head. "Ah, well, is there a chance that you guys could break up" I raise my eyebrow. "No Adam, me and my boyfriend are very happy with each other. In fact, he'll be here soon so you should probably leave. I'll send the check to you by tomorrow" He shakes his head. "No, I want to meet the guy that supposedly has your heart" I sigh and nod. "Sure Adam" My phone pings and I look down to see Gray's text.

Right after I read that, I hear the ding of the cafe door opening. "Well, you wanted to meet him right?" Adam nods and I smile. "Then right this way" I walk out of my office with Adam. This is gonna be fun. I walk over to Grayson. "Hey baby" He smiles down at me. "Hey sunshine" He pulls me to him and he kisses me. I smile and hold him closer. I hear Adam cough behind me which makes Gray pull away and look over my shoulder.

"And who is this?" I bite my lip as I look up at Grayson but only smile back at Adam. "Thumper, this is Adam, the florist and Adam, this is Grayson, my boyfriend" I swear they both stand up straighter. Did Adam really just puff out his chest? Oh my god, men. Grayson holds me tighter to him, almost possessively. "So you're the guy that stole her from me" I look up at gray to see him smile at Adam. "Stole her? No, she was always mine"

Adam tsks and stares at gray right in the eyes. "I've known her way longer than you, so yes. You stole her, I've been patiently waiting to be with her ever since I met her" Grayson chuckles and loosens his hold on me and steps forward slightly. "And may I ask, how long you have known her?" Adam smiles smugly. "Two years" Grayson smiles before laughing softly. "I've known my sunshine for four years and I've been patiently waiting for her" Adam's smile drops and looks at me. "So I have no chance Pen?" I shake my head.

"Nope, sorry Adam and either way, I'm sorry to say but I would've never gone out with you. You're just not my type but you're a nice guy and I'm sure there are plenty of other girls that want to be with you" He looks away from me and nods. "Got it, have a nice day you two" He walks away and leaves the cafe. Grayson smiles smugly after him before turning to me and smiling softly. "Was I too obvious?" I furrow my eyes.

"Of being jealous?" He shakes his head. "Of being possessive" I laugh softly and nod. "Then yes, you were" I poke his side and he flinches. "Hey, you know I'm ticklish sunshine" I smile. "Exactly, now go sit down. There's still-" I look at the clock. "30 minutes before closing time" He nods and kisses my forehead before going over to a booth. I walk over to the cash register.

"Hey Lilly, do you want an early break? I can take over" She smiles. "Are you sure, I don't mind" I nod. "Yea it's fine, go take your break" She nods and walks away and I take over the cash register. The cafe door opens and the ding goes off, I look over to smile at the customer but stop. My fucking god. I give her a tight knit smile.

"Welcome Lucy" she smiles at me. "Hello pen, I have a question" I sigh and smile tightly again. "Yes?" She means for ways slightly and pints over her shoulder towards Grayson. "Is he single?" I narrow my eyes at her. "No he's not, he's still mine and he will always be mine Lucy, so just give up" She sneers at me. "I have no idea what he sees in you, I'm clearly the better option"

I scoff. "I also have no idea why he loves me but you and him? Hah! That's funny, you literally treat people so badly and you keep pursuing a man that has rejected you multiple times and now is a man that is dating me, so just stop" She has the audacity to look offended.

"How dare you talk to me like that Penelope? You're just a fat bitch that doesn't deserve him or anyone!" Before I can respond, both Lucy and I jump at the sound of slamming on the counter. I look to the side of Lucy to see Grayson glaring down at her. "Grayson!" Lucy smiles nervously at Grayson before trying to hug him.

He pushes her away kinda of roughly. She stumbles backwards before getting her footing back. "Grayson, why'd you do that, baby?" He growls out. "Stop!" She freezes and I smile slightly. Karma bitch.

"Just fucking stop! You can talk to me however you want but you leave Penelope out of this. You don't call her a fat bitch! You don't say she doesn't deserve love! You think you deserve love? No you fucking don't if this is how you treat people and if you can't take no for a fucking answer! I have rejected you so many times for you to know, No is a complete sentence. You're delusional if you think you could ever be with me. You don't take no for an answer, you are so rude to our other neighbors. Penelope is kind, funny and so beautiful. She actually takes no for an answer. She's respectful of other people's personal space and privacy."

My heart melts and I smile softly. I didn't know that's how he viewed me.

"She is someone that I don't deserve, not the other way around. So you don't get to talk shit about her or about other people when in fact, you are the piece of shit. So stop standing there like you're about to cry and leave. Don't ever talk to Penelope or me again, don't come to her cafe again, don't approach us in the hallway of our apartment complex, just leave us alone, now go. Leave." Lucy wipes away a fallen tear and quickly leaves without another word. "Oh shit" I hear Cherry say softly off to the side. Grayson turns to me. "Are you okay?" I look at him confused. "Me? Are you okay?" He smiles softly. "Yea" I smile. "Then yea, I'm okay"
