"Run, baby, run. Don't ever look back. They'll tear us apart if you give them the chance. Don't sell your heart. Don't say we're not meant to be. Run, baby, run. Forever we'll be you and me"-We the Kings

She was beaming. She was able to fully have a conversation with Sebastian over breakfast. No distractions. No expectations. Just like old times. It was nice being able to just laugh at his silly jokes and talk about whatever came to mind. Especially after everything that happened last year. He seemed better. She hoped he really felt better inside.

"What do you mean you want to have a duel first class of the year?" He looked at her in disbelief. She wasn't known for her aggression, usually preferring to logically talk out a situation. Sebastian, on the other hand, as we all know loved the thrill of the fight. Dueling was in his blood. Fighting was in his DNA.

"Well, I've been practicing over the summer. I really think I could do well. I want a good practice before Crossed Wands starts up for the year. I'm tired of watching," She looked at him, his goofy expression getting a small laugh out of her.

"Oh, I'm sure. I would pay money to watch you fall on your Gryffindor ass," He popped a grape into his mouth and almost choked from his laughing.

"If you aren't careful, you won't be there to see it. Win or lose," She smacked his shoulder with the back of her hand playfully.

He shook his head, "I don't want to have to listen to it if you do lose. Maybe I should find my way to the Hospital wing."

He put his elbow on the table and rested his head on his hand, facing her. The goofy smile plastered on his face.

He really does look handsome.

She couldn't help but take him in. Maybe she really did have a thing for him. Sebastian Sallow. Best friend, five years running. She smiled to herself.

She looked behind Sebastian and saw that new girl from last year. What was her name? Janice? Green robes flowing behind her. Everyone called her the 'Hero of Hogwarts'. She was one of the reasons Emilia and Sebastian had so many problems last year. She basically replaced Emilia in their friendship.

So maybe best friend, four years in a row? And possibly a come back? He did seem to be redeeming himself. So much so that she hadn't even thought about what she had said about the boundaries in her letters over the summer. He seemed himself. She didn't think she really needed to uphold all of that.

"Good morning, Sebastian. Emilia," She said. What did she want? "Sebastian would you have a moment to talk?"

Emilia felt her fingers tighten on the fork in her hand.

"Morning Jessica. Yeah, I have a minute," Sebastian said. Jessica. "I'll be right back, Em," He smiled at her as he stood to follow her to the corner of the room.

She watched as they talked. She was standing awfully close to him. He was smiling at her. Maybe a little too much. She laughed and touched his arm. She didn't have to be so obvious.

What am I saying?

He has every right to speak with who he wants, how he wants.

She sighed to herself. She really was just doomed. This boy has doomed her.

She came back to reality just in time to watch Sebastian walking back over again. Jessica going to sit with her friends across the hall. He retook his seat and took a nice sip of his morning pumpkin juice.

"Have fun?" She asked, almost annoyed.

"Hmm? What do you mean?" He questioned.

"You two seemed to be having a good laugh, just thought you must have been having fun," She shrugged, turning to her plate in front of her.
