Despite the age gap between the sisters, they were always together. If yelena had something to do then wanda will be found right next to her either joining or doing their own thing. Natasha adored their bond and was grateful they got along so well but it becomes a problem when yelena has to go where wanda can't.

"I want lena!" she wailed, squirming in her mother's arms.

"I know baby and she'll be back soon but right now she's doing big girl stuff and you could get hurt" nat said.

Yelena was in training to become one of the avengers which the redhead was scared of, not wanting her oldest to be in such risk but it was her choice and she knew if wanda was there, she wouldn't be able to focus.

"Mama!" wanda whined.

Nat bounced her youngest, "how about you draw a picture for lena? Then you can give it to her as a surprise"

Wanda stopped crying at the suggestion and wiped her eyes with the back of her palm, "Lena come back?" she asked.

"Of course she will darling I promise" nat said.

They were in wanda's room where her desk was as she was coloring.

"Mama I spell it good?" she asked with a head tilt.

Nat chuckled as she saw the words yelena, baby and mama.

"Good job baby you did it all without any mistakes" she said praising the girl.

Wanda giggled, slightly kicking her feet, "how long left mama?"

"You've asked me that  minutes ago detka" wanda whined not getting her answer, "soon I promise" nat replied.

The drawing was done and in wanda's hand until they heard friday announce yelena was done training and wanda ran as quick as her little legs could.  She spotted the blonde and started running to her, "Lena!" she yelled excitedly.

The blonde turned around to seeing her little sister and went to her knees with her arms open but wanda never got there as she got hit in the nose and fell on her bum, she started crying harshly at the pain.

"Parker what the fuck!" yelena yelled pushing him back.

"I- I didn't mean to" he said, looking at the girl crying on the floor.

Nat heard the yelling and quickly came across seeing the scene, she kneeled next to wanda and saw some blood coming out of her nose.

"Mama" she sobbed.

"I know baby it's okay we'll clean it up, does it hurt?" she asked quietly.

Wanda nodded as she made grabby hands to nat to carry her. Yelena and peter were still arguing.

"Well next time don't start swinging around the fucking place when my little sister is there and now you hurt her!" she said as she held him up against the wall.

"Lena let him go" nat said calmly, she knew the blonde might be having some sort of flashback and thinking the men in hydra had hurt wanda again.

"No!" yelena spat, "you don't fucking hurt wanda again do you hear me?"

"Yelena I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt wanda" he said, "just let me go"

Nat gotten a bit closer with wanda in her arms, "lena it's mama, wanda is safe right here but you need to let him go, he's not them they can't get you or wanda anymore"

The redhead was about to internally panic when she saw she wasn't getting to yelena.

"Lena?" a small voice said.

Yelena snapped her head towards her little sister and ran to her, "wanda" she said taking the girl into her own arms as she hugged her.

"Does it hurt?" the blonde asked.

Wanda nodded, "a bit"

"Let's go clean you up detka" nat said while rubbing her hand across her oldest's back.

"Wait!" wanda said, "this for you" handing the drawing to her big sister.

Yelena grabbed the drawing with shaky hands, "I love it wands" she said, filling the girl's face with kisses. Wanda giggling at the sensation and nat having a smile on her face watching her daughters.

They cleaned up wanda and when she went to sleep, nat decided it's a good time to talk to yelena since she would never want to infront of wanda.

They were sat on nat's bed, "do you want to tell me what happened earlier?" nat asked gently.

Yelena shrugged, looking down, "Nothing"

"It's wasn't nothing maylshka, you had peter pushed up against the wall and held him there"

The blonde felt tears brimming her eyes, "He hurt wanda and I had to protect her"

"Did you think he was one of them?" she asked, grabbing the shaky hands into her own.

Yelena nodded as she started crying, the older woman pulling her into a hug.

"T- they would always hurt her and I tried my best to protect her but I always failed" she cried in her mother's shoulder.

"You never failed her, you were also a kid who needed protecting, you did all you could do and that girl loves you. She didn't stop asking every 5 minutes how long till you get back" she chuckled trying to make her daughter calm down.

Yelena laughed a little, "I love her I just- I don't want anyone to hurt her again"

Nat kissed the side of her head, "I know detka no one will hurt either of you ever again I promise"
