After a lonnng while of walking, we finally reached a Salem sign.
The city looked really creepy since it was abandoned and filled with nature now.
"This is so insane," I admired, glancing around at all the new sights.
I was so amazed, cause none of this was in my city. It was truly different and unique. I knew I was gonna love it here.
"Ah, my favorite place," Griff finally spoke, taking in the city.
"Why? Is it dark for your emo pleasure?" I joked, glancing at him.
I looked away, but I could feel him staring at me. Staring with his ugly second mouth.
We continued to walk, soon reaching an odd looking tree. It was a large one, its size big enough to carry hundreds of people.
"This tree is so interesting," I gasped, getting closer to it.
"You're interested in a tree?" Griff asked, eyeing me in concern.
"Okay forehead mouth, just cause you look emo doesn't mean you have to act it," I scoffed, leaning against the bark of the tree.
"Maybe I should eat you. It'll shut you up faster," he spat back, clearly annoyed by me.
"You promise?" I smirked, poking my tongue into the side of my mouth.
"You want me to eat you?" his eyebrows narrowed in confusion.
I felt my face becoming warm, hoping that I wasn't turning as red as a tomato.
My thoughts were so insane that it'd be better to stay quiet.
"The Hanging Tree" Aino read on a stone tablet, glancing at the tree that I was currently leaning on.
"That's dark." I frowned, walking to Aino so I could read it as well.
"It says they used it for witches. That's so cool," Aino gasped, reading it more intently.
"Witches exist? My god, tell me these people killed all of them," I groaned, reading even faster.
"Why?! I think it's cool," Aino frowned, glaring at me.
"Hey, I don't wanna deal with both zombies and witches," I responded, glaring at him also.
"That's true," he sighed in defeat, turning back to the stone table.
I heard Griff chuckle behind us, coming closer to the tree.
"You into this emo boy?" I questioned, moving over a bit so he can read the stone tablet as well.
"No, I'm just glad we found another nerd for Aino," he teased, staring at me.
"Another? Who's the first one, you?" I smirked, turning to face him.
I saw his smile fade, quickly glancing away from me.
"Oh, you're so sensitive," I laughed, spinning around Aino.
"You are interesting, I've never seen anyone counter Griff like this," Aino nervously chuckled, glancing between the two of us.
"Well then, maybe Griff's losing his touch," I smiled, leaning over the stone tablet.
"Ooh, maybe," Aino smirked, taking a look at him too.
Griff glanced at us, scoffing as he processed what I said.
"I'm not. You're just some weirdo that has a death wish," he spoke, finally stepping up to the stone tablet.
"Like you could kill me. Last time you tried, you missed every shot." I shook my head, replaying the scene.
He placed his hand on the tablet, leaning against it.
"Trust me, I haven't tried hard enough yet."
"Okay, please don't kill each other," Aino sighed, trying to come between us.
"I find it shocking that you want to challenge me after we agreed to make you something. You were some pathetic girl living on newspapers. I'd like to think that you'd have more gratitude," Griff continued, his bangs beginning to lift like it did earlier.
My theory was that his ugly second mouth reacted to his emotions. It came out every time he got angry.
"That's not really my style. I didn't ask you guys to make me something, I asked to go with you. I'd like to be nice, but I can't be nice to someone who has the mood swings of a teenage boy. Respect is earned. Respect me, and I'll respect you." I spat back, leaning closer and closer.
"And that's not my style. I wouldn't respect someone who's as immature as a female child. For all I can care, you can go back to your sad little subway and fuck o—" he was cut off by Aino.
"Guys," I heard him whisper, causing both me and Griff to turn.
Aino stepped away from the stone tablet, staring at something ahead.
I narrowed my eyebrows, deciding to look at what he was seeing.
"What the.." I heard Griff mumble, seeing it before I did.
I glanced up, easily noticing what they were looking at.
A zombified gush appeared in front of us. It was a huge blob in the shape of some dinosaur creature.
Its entire body was thick except its neck. Its neck was thinning, like something had wrapped around it.
"I feel like these are the witches' corpses," I heard Aino joke, awkwardly chuckling afterward.
"Run."
