After about a day or two, we finally left Salem. The two still had to carry me because of my leg, but it was doing better.

Normally, the two held me up with my arms over their shoulders. Today, Griff was insistent on fully carrying me to let Aino rest as well.

I loosely wrapped my arms around his neck, knowing he had a tight grip under my legs.

We walked along a rocky trail for a bit, both me and Aino were amazed by the scenery.

We didn't really know where we were going next, and we were sure we were heading east again, but we still ventured out.

"I'm personally getting tired of traveling so much," Aino whined, looking up to the sky.

"Quit complaining. Kama wants to see the world like we did." Griff spoke, staying focused.

"True. Hey Kam, what do you wanna do next?" Aino questioned, turning to me.

I paused a bit at the nickname, never being called that before. I did like the nickname. It was something new.

I gently rested my head on Griff's shoulder, thinking about the question for a bit.

"I wonder if there's more survivors," I whispered, loud enough for the two to hear.

Aino looked shocked at my answer, like he's never thought of that before.

"That is another insight. It's always been just me and Griff, so we never stopped to think of any other people. That's until you, Kama." he gently smiled when he said my name.

I turned a bit red, glancing away to think.

"It would be cool to meet more people. Maybe there's like safety camps and stuff. I know in the movies it always ends bad, but that doesn't mean we have to stay," I imagined, smiling at the thought.

"Hey Griff, do you see Kam being long term? I know we agreed on only taking her out of Oregon, but she's a good addittionn" Aino smirked, trying to convince him.

Griff finally turned, glancing between the two of us.

"I don't know yet. I still don't enjoy her presence," he mumbled.

"That's so mean. Aren't you the one carrying me around right now?" I teased, getting close to his ear.

"That's because you're injured. I'm not an asshole, I'm still courteous," he scoffed, trying hard to defend himself.

"I beg to differ,"

"I'll fucking eat you."

"C'mon Griff! Isn't this fun?" Aino frowned, clearly on my side.

"Right, you were just giving me props, and now you're being cold again," I pointed out, my grip getting tighter around him.

He stood silent, staring into the distance.

"As for that camp dream, it's better if you forget it."

My nose twitched a bit, his grimm voice sending a chill down my spine.

"Why?" Aino questioned, his voice becoming more serious.

"Cause it's disappointing," Griff responded, not bothering to look at any of us.

Aino glared at him, running ahead to talk face to face.

"Do you know something, Griff?" he asked, tilting his head a bit.

Griff finally stopped in his tracks, glaring back at Aino.

They stared at each other for a few solid minutes. Aino continuously taking mini glances at me.
