We walked through the George Washington bridge, each step feeling like we took an eternity to move.

Me and Aino didn't exchange any words since we left the building. We didn't shed tears, we didn't complain, we didn't beg. It's like we just mindlessly walked. We knew we had to get the actual fuck out of this fucked up city.

I couldn't even appreciate the bright sun, the cotton candy clouds, or the pastel blue sky. It was the worst time of my life, and yet it was the most beautiful day outside.

Even the glistening ocean had absolutely no impact on me. I could care less about it, even though it was beautiful in the sun.

"Fuck," I heard Aino mutter under his breath, his voice finally breaking under the pressure.

I glanced up at him, seeing the tears fall like a stream. It was like he finally crumbled, and I was bound to as well.

"It's not fair. It's not fucking fair. Why us? ARE WE THIS CURSED?" he yelled, genuine anger backing him his strong voice.

It actually scared me a bit, cause even during the argument he wasn't this angry.

He was angry at the world right now.

So was I.

I began to shake my head, letting out a long, shaky sigh.

"Fuck it, listen to me, Aino."

He glanced at me, his eyebrows softening when he realized how angry he actually was.

"Yeah?" he spoke, his voice softening as well.

"We'll do it for Griff. We're going to make our own society, take in everyone that camp couldn't, we'll become so much better. We'll rise up, and we'll fucking destroy Olivia Bitchford. They are going to know our names. Kama Grey, and Ain—" I paused, realizing that I didn't actually know his last name.

He gently smiled, starting to wipe the tears from his face.

"They'll know our names. Kama Grey, and Aino Yarrow."

I smiled as well, putting my fist out.

He looked at me like I was crazy, extremely confused by the gesture.

"It's a fist bump. You put your hand into a fist and connect it with mine. Then we retract, and maybe do a cool noise, I don't know," I explained, urging him to participate.

He put his hand into a fist, beginning to smile like a child.

"Shlam!" he exclaimed, connecting his fist with mine.

I laughed a bit, the noise catching me off guard.

"Shlam?"

"Shlam. It'll be our cool sound effect."

"Alright, I can work with that..."

"They'll know our names. Kama Grey, Aino Yarrow. Shlam."

"Shlam."
