I walked past the final test tube, seeing a large one lifted high above the ground.

At the bottom of the stairs, a long table with solutions and technology spread all over it.

"Welcome, Kama Grey. Hope you enjoy the show." the main scientist in the middle began to speak, the smirk on his face obvious through his tone.

My eyebrows narrowed, realizing that none of them were even imagining a fight with me.

They were all focused on what was before them.

The tube soon opened, icy cold smoke fell from the floor. It sent chills through my body from all the way over here, showing how cold it was in there.

A dark figure stood in the tube, its features hard to distinguish right now. It simply stood there, not bothering to make any moves.

Its silhouette looked human, so that relieved me just a bit. I was glad they weren't letting out a Chimera or something.

Boy, was I wrong.

The figure finally stepped forward, my eyes widening when I realized who it was.

Griff stood before us, but it wasn't the same Griff I was with during the escape.

His bangs were tucked behind his ears, showing a full view of his second mouth.

Horns sprouted from either side of it, the tips fading into a deep red.

His fangs grew out of his mouth, the points of it sharper than I've ever seen it.

Lastly, there were sharp claws that grew from his hands. They were almost as big as his horns, the last sharp item placed on his monstrous apperence.

What the fuck did they do?

"Like it? That's his power at full potential. He's a chimera now, baby," the main scientist spoke, glancing back every now and then to look at me.

"He's right. I've learned my potential now. I can be more than some hitchhiker planning to settle down with a farmboy and some girl. This is my perfected form, Kama."

This wasn't the Griff I knew. Absolutely nothing that he said now made sense. He wouldn't say any of it. He hates this place.

I was sure of it.

"I think she likes it! Show her what you're made of big guy," the scientist spoke, walking up to him so he could close the tube he came out of.

"Gladly, for Olivia Crawford."

"For Olivia Crawford."

"NO."

Griff lunged towards me the moment he gave props to Bitchford, his claws swiping just centimeters away from my face.

I was able to dodge at the last minute, a small scratch being the only thing he left on me.

A small amount of blood dripped from his claws, his main tongue sticking out to lick it clean.

"Your blood always tasted amazing."

"Whatever you did to him, undo it." I glanced at the scientists, my hands shaking in fear of what was before me right now.

"No can do, sweetheart. Orders are orders."

I rolled my eyes, glancing back at Griff.

He was at least a foot taller now. His figure towered over me like he was the Empire State.

Before his next attack, his second mouth began to move. It opened up, its tongue slowly sticking out.

Then it blew a fucking raspberry at me.

He dashed towards me again, his claws swiping at anything he could get his hands on.

One of his fingers hooked under my shirt, the claw digging right through it.

I yelped, pulling myself away from his grasp.

The bottom of my shirt was now torn, a scratch lining the side of my stomach.

"Why do you run? Am I not your boyfriend, Kama?"

I hated the way he said my name now. He sounded just like Aurelio, and I hated that.

I hated this.

The elevator doors opened, some guards from the dark room running out of it.

My mom, Bitchford, and Aino came out after them. Bitchford dragged Aino out like he was some floppy dog toy.

"Griff? Kama?"

I was surprised he even recognized Griff in this state. He was nothing like the Griff we knew.

"Alright, I like what I see."

Griff's eyes widened in fear, his aggressiveness quickly fading. He kneeled to the ground, bowing his head down for Olivia Bitchford.

"Good boy, aren't the Chimeras so good when I'm around?" she mused, petting him like he was her fucking dog.

She made me so angry.

"I'll tell you what. If you can make it to the elevator before my good boy can catch you, you can run free with no Aurelio on your tail. Deal?"

"I'm sick of your fucking deals."

"One."

"I hope you trip on a crack and your old ass disappears into dust."

"Two."

"You don't deserve ANYTHING good. I hope you DIE!"

"Three."

Before I could let out my next insult, Aino was grabbing me and throwing me over his shoulder.

Griff got up from the ground, getting on all fours like he was some rabid beast.

"FUCK YOU. I HATE THIS PLACE!" I screamed, using Aino as support to lift myself up.

"Yeah, yeah. Get em, Griff."

Griff dashed after us, using the tubes to pick up momentum.

Aino ran as fast as his legs could take him, his chest heaving up and down as he carried us so close to safety.

He fell to the floor, sliding perfectly into the elevator.

Griff's claws stabbed through the walls, the concrete crumbling from the weight.

He was so big now that he couldn't even fit in the elevator. He just glared at us through the door.

We both stared back at him with wide eyes, not even bothering to hit the elevator buttons.

He continued to growl, but it seemed like he was calming down on his own. He huffed, shaking his head as if he was shaking off whatever this camp put him under.

His eyes went back to their regular charcoal black, the only humane feature that was on him now.

Tears fell from them, and he now stared at us with empathy.

"I'm sorry."

Me and Aino just stood there like we were frozen in place. I knew we had to get out of here, but I just couldn't. I couldn't believe anything that was happening right now.

"You guys have to go. You can't stay here," he sighed, one of his sharp claws reaching into the elevator.

He hit the lobby button, quickly retracting so that the doors could close.

"Griff, no-" Aino began, thinking that he could actually come with us in this state.

"Goodbye, you two. Maybe next time you can put me out of my misery,"

And then the doors shut.
