"I know you guys are in there. I'm just giving you the choice to come out yourself, or if you'd want me to force you out," a grimm voice spoke, worse than Griff.
The creature continued to hum and chitter, its frequency echoing throughout the house.
"Should we?" I uncovered my mouth, barely letting out even a whisper.
Griff slowly shook his head, keeping his mouth covered.
I bit my lip to keep silent, glancing down at the floor in awkwardness.
"Griff, my boy already heard you. You can't keep running now that I have your friend."
My eyes widened, I quickly looked at Griff.
I noticed his expression change from his previous fear. His eyes narrowed, turning a shade of red.
Oh shit.
The moment he turned, the wall had been punched open. Blood splattered from Griff's knuckles as he hopped onto the creature, biting into it.
"ASSHOLE-" the guy shrieked, trying to pull his creature away from Griff.
"WHERE IS HE?" Griff yelled, digging anything sharp into the creature.
The creature continued to let out loud frequencies like the one in Salem. It tried to shake Griff off, messing up its owner as well.
It was like a big oversized dog. Clifford, but without the red.
"STOP ATTACKING ME AND I'LL TELL YOU," the guy spoke through struggled grunts.
"TELL ME AND I'LL STOP ATTACKING YOU." Griff gave his ultimatum, running his blade into the oversized dog's neck.
The guy's eyes widened as the head began splitting apart.
God that's fucking gross.
"OKAY, OKAY. JUST LEAVE HIM ALONE."
The guy was just as scared of Griff as Griff was of him a few minutes ago.
Griff pulled the knife out of its neck, his fangs retracting back into his mouth.
"Let go, and get off," the guy spoke, beginning to successfully get his dog away.
Griff's eyes never wavered from the guy as he began to crawl down.
He stood where the now destroyed doorway was, glaring at the guy.
The dog began to heal, its neck snapping back into place.
It glared at Griff and began growling at him, most likely angry about the damage.
Griff's fangs grew out again, returning the growl and level of sass.
"Let's all calm down." the guy began to calm down himself, guiding his dog far away from the two of us.
I finally stepped up to the scene, deciding to keep my calm composure to get in between the tense air.
I was now able to take a complete look at this guy.
His eyes shined an unnatural gold. They were a complete resemblance to the actual ore.
His golden brown hair complimented it, combed into a shaggy middle part. He dressed somewhat formally, but he still looked immature as ever.
I sighed, not knowing what to expect from this guy.
"Where's this friend? And what do you know?" I asked, stepping slightly in front of Griff.
I shot him a glare of 'calm down', his fangs retracting when I did. He went somewhat back to normal, pretty fast, covering his second mouth with his bangs once again.
"Oh, he was taken by the camp I work with. If you're about to ask for the reason, then Griff must be hiding something from you." the guy smirked, leaning on his dog for support.
I glanced back at Griff, in which he gave me a look of shame.
"The friend we took probably knows, but I can't take that bet. Do they know, Griff?" he asked, aiming his dog's head right at us.
Griff glared at him before glancing down at the ground.
"No. Neither of them do."
"Ahh, okay then! So basically, we've been looking for Griff for a while cause he stole supplies from us, committed other acts of treason, then ran away, and we never knew where for a while. We've wanted him back, but he's always been able to slip under our radar. That's pretty hard to do with multiple people, though, right?" the guy quickly explained.
"So, you took someone who was completely innocent in all this? Tell me, how the fuck does that make sense?" I began to press, becoming frustrated with this guy now.
"Kama, please."
"No. I'm actually trying to make sense of this, and I don't understand why they would just go straight to Aino. Their logic was flawed from the beginning an-"
"Stop." Griff finally said with completely seriousness, grabbing my arm.
"Why are you defending him anyways? Weren't you two arguing before I came into the picture?" the guy questioned, looking at us as if he got us pinned.
"That's none of your fucking business. You still haven't answered the question of why you would take him and what the fuck do you want." I snapped back, trying to walk ahead despite Griff having a death grip on me.
"We want Griff back, which was why we took your friend. It wouldn't be anything to take him and only get resistance in return. We need something to convince him to come back. If Griff comes, we'll give your friend the option to either go or stay. The same goes for you, Kama."
My name felt like poison dripping from his tongue. He said it with such an ominous tone, and it sent shivers up my spine.
"She's not going, and we're most certainly not letting Aino stay with you guys, so take us to him." Griff demanded, stepping beside me.
"Oh, you think I'm gonna make it that easy for you? Nah... you know the way, Griff. You guys can make the journey," he smirked, sitting up straight as if about to run off.
"You fucking asshole." Griff scoffed, starting to walk up to the guy.
I'm guessing the guy learned his lesson before, cause him and his dog were gone in the blink of an eye.
"ASSHOLE!" Griff shrieked, watching him run off.
I deeply sighed, running my hand through my hair. It felt so matted now it was ridiculous.
God, we were a mess.
"What are we supposed to do now?" I spoke in a quiet voice, walking over to where Griff was.
He glanced over at me and stood silent. It seemed as though he was thinking of his answer.
"I don't know," he muttered, glancing down at the ground.
"If you're still intent on leaving, you can. If you wanna get Aino back, then come along. I'm not wasting any time." he finalized, starting to walk off.
I watched him walk, sighing as I thought about it.
I still didn't really like him right now. Although, the moment Aino was mentioned, he went absolutely rabid on that dude. At the end of the day, all I wanted was things somewhat normal, so I finally came to a conclusion.
"Wait for me."
