I shot up from my slumber, quickly going into attack mode.

Another tug going through my body was able to wake me up, the memories of what happened before quickly coming back to me.

For some reason, I had been sprawled across the side of a bed.

The room that I was in was fairly modern, but it was a dark kind of modern.

The main wallpaper was a chocolate brown with black designs on it. The baseboards were a dark cream color, and the bed was a mix of white and black.

It looked fairly nice, but that was until I remembered where I was.

So, for now? I think this room is the ugliest thing I've ever seen.

A groan that came beside me grabbed my attention, still staying in attack mode.

I saw Griff just waking up, seeming as out of it as I was at first.

I sighed in relief when I saw it wasn't some weird creep. I'm kind of glad I wasn't alone so we could figure out a plan.

"Fuck," I heard him whisper, his arm seeming weak from the effects still.

He had tried to lift himself up, but he could barely hold his own weight.

"Just lay down," I sighed, urging him to stop trying.

He finally flopped back down onto the bed, groaning in his exhaustion.

"What did he do?" I asked, placing a hand over my heart.

I felt it beat at a normal pace. The strong tugging that was there before was gone, and it was like it had never happened.

"That's his power. He can go into people's body and mind and kill them with one squeeze. He was made that way to kill powerful beings, and he doesn't even have to touch you for it to work. He just has to see you," Griff sighed, leaving his hand on his heart as well.

"That's freaky. I'm uncomfortable even being in the same room as him," I shuttered, fearful of him just killing one of us.

Just then, the door swung open aggressively.

I jumped, quickly pulling out the dagger on my leg strap.

Aurelio stood there, glaring at us like some creepy clown guy.

"Come, you should meet the rest of the camp," was all he said before he walked off.

I glanced at Griff, getting only a shrug in response.

We both walked out of the room, seeing a main lobby there.

It was a big room. On the far right was a seating area. It had L-shaped sofas surrounding it, a big modern coffee table right in the middle.

Behind there were gun holsters. There was a wide variety from pistols to machine guns.

Right in the middle, there was a bar. Two girls were there, one of them making a drink for the other.

At the far left corner, there were small café tables, like they belonged to a cute fancy restaurant.

The rest of the space was used for a pool table, which had a guy playing by himself.

The rest of the lobby had doors scattered in between all the stuff. I was assuming they were all rooms.

The girl behind the bar let out a sharp gasp, her eyes glistening when she saw Griff.

"Griff? You're alive!" she cried, floating over the bar.

Yes, she was floating.

She floated over to him, pulling him into a tight hug.
