I would say that everything went smoothly from then on, but it didn't.

Griff told me that the camp was in the Empire State, so we traveled for a little while. It obviously didn't take that long, but it was still a walk.

That's where the problem takes place.

It's an apocalypse, so you'd think a huge city would be abandoned, right?

No.

There's civilizations here.

When we neared the building, we saw a bunch of tents outside of it. There were people handing out food, water, supplies, and treating mostly younger kids.

None of them even had zombie inflicted injuries. Just scrapes from what I'm assuming were falls.

They looked as though they weren't even worried about the apocalypse. It seemed like this was all normal for them, and we definitely got weird glares on our way down.

Even Griff was completely dumbfounded. He didn't understand why there were people living here, because the city was completely abandoned when he was here.

"This is giving me off vibes, Griff. Something's not right here," I mumbled close to his ear, glaring back at the people who dared look at us.

I felt him shutter beside me, but he simply responded.

"I feel the same way. There's definitely something wrong."

I kept close to him, awkwardly glancing at the people staying outside the building.

We finally reached the door, Griff going in for the handle.

What happened was so sudden, I felt like laying down there and just dying cause I didn't even want to comprehend how fast it happened.

I was tackled by some random person who was by the tent closest to us. My head hit the sidewalk, a loud hiss coming through my teeth.

I felt the pain shoot up and down my spine, getting a cry out of me as well.

All I heard beside me were curses coming from Griff, like he was getting manhandled as well.

I tried to open my eyes, but the person near me began to drag me.

They yanked on my arm, forcing me to my feet.

"Nothing to see here! Just a bunch of outsiders."

I continued to react to the pain, not being able to even process it with this person dragging me along.

I heard Griff's second mouth growling, but it didn't sound like it was doing any damage.

The commotion outside soon faded into the distance, the sound of a door shutting coming from behind us.

I finally opened my eyes a bit, my vision coming hazy to me from the hard hit.

"Griff! You fucking idiot" I heard the girl dragging me exclaim, stopping me in place.

"Athena?"

"CAN SOMEONE SIT ME DOWN?! I DON'T EVEN CARE IF IT'S ON THE FLOOR OR NOT." I yelled, becoming angry from the pain.

"Oh, sorry. I didn't mean to tackle you that hard, but you guys would have caused a worse commotion if you had just waltzed in here." the girl explained, sitting me down into a chair nearby.

I deeply sighed, throwing my head back so that I could begin getting over the pain.

"And... you're Michiko," I continued to hear Griff. He sounded like he was in awe.
