I didn't wanna wake up in the morning. I wanted to sleep forever. Not in a depressing way, in the way where I didn't think I was going to wake up. I thought I would've been out for hours and then wake up two days later. That's how tired I was.

Unfortunately, I did wake up. I woke up really early because the sun was just rising.

I let out a groan, lifting myself up.

I was spread out in front of the door, the pillow stuck to my face. The pillow was wet from what I was assuming was drool.

I pulled the pillow away from my face and left it there. My leg still hurt a lot, but I was able to stand on my two feet.

I stretched before opening the door, trying to be quiet in case the others were still asleep.

When I opened the door, I saw a sight that I wasn't expecting.

The door to the room across was wide open. The room inside had stuff thrown around and broken glass. The window was out of the frame, hanging from the side of it. The wind blew the curtains astray, really putting together the mess.

What happened?

What was more important was that Griff wasn't there. That caused me to worry more.

I slowly walked ahead to the room Aino went to. I leaned forward to peer inside, noticing that the door was opened just slightly.

I reached for the doorknob, slowly pushing it open.

Griff was kneeled on the floor, holding something close to him.

"Griff?" I asked, my voice breaking a bit, which I didn't expect.

He quickly turned to me, a crazed expression on his face.

There was sweat dripping down his face, causing his bangs to stick. The uneven hair revealed his second mouth in pieces, which was completely calm instead of the growling mess it usually is.

He was breathing heavily, and there were dry marks under his eyes and along his cheeks. Was he crying?

"Griff, what happened?" I asked, falling in front of him.

Another thing I quickly noticed.

Aino was nowhere to be found.

His eyes darted around me, like he didn't know where to look. He lifted his hands and placed them on my shoulders, his eyes finally looking into mine.

I felt him shake under me, like he was too weak to support himself.

I couldn't look at him anymore. I needed to know what happened.

I asked once more, but he didn't even acknowledge that I spoke. His eyes fell to my own hands. He just stared.

"WHAT HAPPENED?!" I finally yelled at him, lifting my hands to grip his.

"AINO'S GONE!" he shrieked back, his voice giving up mid sentence.

"What do you mean he's gone?! Did he run away? Did someone take him?" I questioned, unable to worry until I knew the full story.

"Second one. I woke up to someone grabbing me. Th—They threw me to the side and stormed into Aino's room. I tried to fight, but they just took him." he explained through his heavy breathing.

I simply glared at him, starting to shake my head.

"No..no. I saw you fight that zombie in Salem. You wouldn't let Aino go that easily unless you let him," I whispered, starting to pull myself away.

"Kama, pleas—"

"THIS IS YOUR. FAULT. HE WOULDN’T HAVE BEEN SEPERATED IF YOU WOULD'VE STOPPED BEING AN ASSHOLE FOR ONCE," I yelled, stepping away from him.

"HEY. YOU BARELY EVEN KNOW US. WHO ARE YOU TO TELL ME WHO I AM TO AINO?" he yelled back, finally standing up himself.

"You're right. So I don't know why I'm still here with a stranger," I scoffed, turning to storm out.

I noticed him pause when I said that. He began to shake his head, seeming to regret it.

I glared, grabbing the door and swinging it open.

"Kama, please— Where are you going to go?" he spoke after me, his voice shaking even more.

"I don’t know, I'll figure it out." I responded, starting to walk down the stairs.

There was silence from his end, causing me to walk faster.

Maybe I could find Aino myself. He was the one who actually cared.

Y'know, I just had absolutely no penny to my name or any supplies. As well as no trail or idea as to where he could've gone.

Griff is also right, I don't know any of them well. I've still grown to care for them nonetheless.

I'd still find a way.

Loud footsteps pounded behind me, activating my fight or flight.

As I went to run, I felt large hands grabbing me back.

"LET GO!" I yelled, already knowing who was grabbing me.

"LISTEN TO ME." he matched my energy, carrying me back to the house.

I continued to kick and scream, but he was able to avoid all my hits.

"YOU'RE A CREEP," I scoffed, finally getting free.

He shut the door behind me, quickly shushing my yelling.

"DON'T FUCKING SHUSH ME. I HA—" an ominous sound quickly cut me off.

There was a long low whistle from outside the door, turning into a hum.

I quickly slapped my hands over my mouth, hearing it near the door.

I saw Griff's wide eyes, like he wanted to run away from the door, but it was the only thing keeping it from me.

Whatever was outside made a chittering noise, gentle scratches going down the door.

"I know you guys are in there. I'm just giving you the choice to come out yourself, or if you want me force you out."
