34 - Love And Respect, Go Hand In Hand..

Lately, Jungkook has this strange thought about life. When things are going good, the universe seems to send some trouble to mess it up. Ever since this drama started Jungkook has come across so many troubles. Some, he has to admit, due to his own fault but most are just the fucked up things which are out of his control.

Half the troubles that he and Taehyung had in their entire relationship can be roped up with this drama. This was the first time they were both working together. Jungkook honestly thought that it would be interesting to see Taehyung in his element, he just didn't anticipate how convincing that element would be.

Like the time when Jungkook had to watch Taehyung and Sana kiss for the first time. He knows it's just acting but it felt so real to him. He felt betrayed and heartbroken, even though his mind knew it was totally irrational. And it happened at a time when Taehyung and he were having a rough patch so instead of talking out his insecurities, Jungkook opted to fight..

"Are you seriously asking me to not react when you kiss someone else?! I know it's only acting but I help feel the way I feel!"

"Jungkook, you're being ridiculous. Why are you behaving like a high-schooler?"

"Ohh.. you didn't mind the high-school me when you asked me to be your boyfriend? Or do you regret that too?"

"What?! What's wrong with you? I'm talking about our careers! We have a reputation to protect."

"Are you trying to imply that I'm bad for your reputation?"

"You know that's not what I mean-"

"-You wanna keep things professional? Sure, let's do that. Have a nice day, Mr Kim."

That fight cost Jungkook 4 sleepless nights alone in his bed. But on the 5th day, Jungkook couldn't take it anymore so he sneaked into Taehyung's bed in the middle of the night. Taehyung only half woke up and as a habit nourished over so many years, he pulled Jungkook tight against his chest and drifted back to the dream land. 

When the morning came, the fight was forgotten. No point in holding petty grudges, when you spent the night tangled up in each other's arms. 

Another time that Jungkook got blinded by jealousy was when Taehyung and Sana had their photo shoot for the drama promotions. It was so hard to keep his expression neutral when he had to watch the two main leads give romantic poses. Luckily, this drama revolves around 3 high-school students. Jungkook didn't know what he would do, if there were any intimate scenes. Having Taehyung put his arm around Sana's waist was bad enough to get Jungkook's blood boiling. 

And, if the truth were to be told, there was someone who was even more jealous than Jungkook. Taehyung. Everytime Sana so much as spoke with Jungkook outside the drama lines, Taehyung would feel this irrational fear and anger rise in his heart. Jungkook was always polite, no matter what misguided opinion he had about Sana, and it wasn't that hard to fall in love with him. Jungkook pretty much had the entire cast and staff wrapped around finger. 

Taehyung was worried about the possibility of Jungkook realizing how much of a better option Sana is for him. Both of them are in the same field, their status and lifestyle matching, not to mention the love and positive reaction they would get from the fans and the general public. The world will welcome them with open arms and well wishes. 

As for him and Jungkook… Taehyung knows that it will never be accepted. There might be some fans who are open minded but most will turn their back. If the news about his and Jungkook's relationship came into public eyes, it would be as if both of them had a target over their head. People will reject them.

If the world remained narrow minded like this, they will have to live in the shadows, always.

Taehyung has never seen Jungkook interact with other idols from his field either. They were in completely different circles and didn't have any excuse to mingle in public before this. So when Taehyung saw how Jungkook reacted when one of his good friends, Eunwoo, came to the set after work, he couldn't help but be wary of their interaction too.

Jungkook was loud, carefree and so comfortable with Eunwoo, that Taehyung felt a little pang of hurt. His Jungkook has always been considerate and caring. Gentle and submissive in nature. Of course he's playful with Taehyung too, but he has always been respectful. 

Jungkook later explained the difference between his friends and Taehyung to the latter. It's because he loved Taehyung, he could never be rude to him, even playfully. That was a very acceptable reasoning for Taehyung so that particular conflict got resolved in a rather happy way.

But now, after going through issues created by lack of communication and giving way to insecurities, Taehyung and Jungkook had learned their lesson. They will always talk it out, no matter how insignificant one would think the issue is. Having a good understanding has always been their strength.

A/N - I know it's a rather short chapter but this is all I could write. So I thought I'll at least publish this part, rather than waiting for next Saturday to write the rest. I haven't had any rest this week at all and I'm so very sleepy.. 😔😔😔

The purpose of this chapter was to clear out all the loose ends from the story so far as we are going into the next part now. It's where the real trouble begins, with a formidable enemy. 

But this time, Taehyung and Jungkook will fight it together.. 🥰🥰
