Arnav's Pov

"Whose car is that? Why are you getting out of that car?"she asked nonchalantly.

Arnav, you are fucked up, man. What will you tell her now? my subconscious mocked.

"And who are you talking with?"

"It's my boss. It was a company car, and I was talking with my boss," I lied.

Another day, another lie.

"You got a job?" she asked.

"Yeah, that's why I called you to share my good news," I replied with another lie.

"Wow, really, congratulations. We have to celebrate this," she remarked excitedly.

"Thank you", I replied slowly.
Why am I telling her these many lies? What if she finds the truth?

"Come on, Arnav", she grabbed my hand and we walked into the beach.

"So, when did you get the job?", she asked.

"It's only one week since we last met".

We sat on the sand feeling the cold breeze from the ocean. Even though there is a lot of noise, I can still hear her magical voice clearly.

"I got the call saying I was selected, the next day after you wish me luck", I remarked.

"Really, once again congratulations", she commented.

"How have you been?", I asked, shifting closer to her.

"I am doing great as always", she replied with a smile.

"I forgot to ask where you got the job?", she asked making me nervous.

"S... S group", I stuttered.

"Oh... ok".

"What else? How is your show going?", I asked. I know her show is great as I listen to her every night and the suggestion she gave a few days back about apologizing was ultimate.

"Yeah, it's good. Try to listen to my show, you will like it", she said. But who says to her that I have been listening to her show for three years.

"You know, today I hosted a show with Mr. Roy and Miss. Sehari. I thought...", she started talking about her day and about interviewing Sid (Mr. Roy) and Megha (Miss. Sehari).

I took a minute to look at her completely. Today, she wore a blue floral dress and she kept her hair loose. Due to the breeze, her hair kept coming onto her face and she continuously tugging it behind her ear. She is so beautiful and calm.

She is completely a chatterbox. Once she starts speaking then there is no way she is going to stop but I enjoy her talks very much.

"So, you liked Sid so much", I asked her.

"Yes", she responded immediately. "Wait, he said only his friends call him Sid then why are you addressing him as Sid".

Fuck, I messed up again. "He is not here so we can address him whatever we want", I shrugged.

"Right", she remarked and continued her conversation.

"So, you ended up gifting them lollipops", I laughed. After many years I am laughing heartfully. This woman is something... she can make me lie and smile... both are new to me.

"Don't tease me. I just wanted to give them something when they were leaving but I didn't find anything in my bag other than lollipops which I bought this morning", she said with a pout and I felt something in my heart looking at her pout.

She said she gifted them lollipops as a goodbye gift. I wanted to see Sid's expression when he received the lollipops... I know it's worth watching him. I am sure Megha likes anything as long as it comes to her with love.

It's nice to talk to her after a long and hectic day. I always forget all my tensions when I was listening to her. That's why I always get all her show recordings from the radio station and of course, she doesn't know that someone is taking all her recordings. Whenever I feel low, I listen to her previous shows. Sometimes I just put on her show while going to sleep, I get sleep hearing her voice.

"Shall we go have dinner?", I asked as it's already 7 and she has to leave before 9 to start her show.

"Ok, let's go", she said and I stood up from the ground and helped her to stand then took her bag from the ground which she placed while talking. I chuckled looking at her bag as it has a keychain with a blue colored doll. Such a childish girl.

We both walked out of the beach to the road. I wanted to take her to the Mexican restaurant which is nearby but she declined saying the food is very expensive there.

"I have money though, I can take you there", I commented.

"If you have money then save it up, you just got the job so don't spend it uselessly because you may have money now but if you spend it lightly then you may not have it when you need it the most", she said.
Man, she seems completely different now. She is not childish; she is more mature than any of the women I know who spends money like water.

I didn't see a woman who asked a man to not spend on her instead save them for the future.

"We can eat here. Here the food will be tasty and the price also moderate. If you still want to spend the money then tip them the money which you want to spend on that Mexican restaurant", she remarked.
Kind, sweet, understanding and beautiful... God must have taken his time to carve her.

"Ok", I replied and went in with her.

It's not very small like the previous one on which we had dosa. It was medium in size and the tables were also very clean. We sat on the corner table beside the window, soft music playing in the background making it pleasant to be there. Though it was my first time coming here, I like it already. We both ordered food and soft drinks.

"What do your parents do, Arnav?", she asked suddenly.
Shit, I haven't prepared for that.

"My father has a small business and my mother is a housewife", I replied.
After thinking hard this is what my brain can think of.

Seriously, Arnav, small business? Do you think S group is a small business? Don't tell this to your father otherwise he will cry in the corner or will make you cry, my subconscious said sarcastically.

"Siblings?"

What can I tell her? Can I say that I have one elder brother who used to be very sweet to me but ended up hating me.

"Yeah, one brother", I blurted out.

"Do you have any siblings?" I asked, changing the topic.

"Yes, unfortunately one elder brother who is adopted" she laughed.

"Adopted?"

"I was just kidding. My brother is working as a manager in a software company. My dad is a government employee and my mom works as a primary school teacher", she said.

We talked a lot while eating. I mostly avoided all the topics related to me, not wanting to tell more lies. She talked a lot about her and I asked her why she is working as an RJ.

"First, when I got the offer, I was 16 so I accepted it for my pocket money. The manager liked my voice, so he used to adjust to my timings for the show. I used to go to the Radio station directly from school. I used to have a show at 6pm back then. Then when I was in college, it rescheduled to 8pm and now, it is at 9pm. It was fun talking to strangers, giving them advice sometimes or some people call to vent out their problems. And I play all my favorite songs. I like it, I like to be RJ", she replied.

"Oh, shit, I have to leave now, it's already 8:30", she said suddenly.

"Ok, let's go", I replied and we went out after paying the bill.
