Domenico immediately jumped into action and sent the group a notification informing them of our situation. Someone texted back saying they are on their way. The Mafia never sleep, they always have people on duty, so now we just have to find a way out of here.

"Put a jumper and shoes on, hurry!" Domenico whisper shout with a bewildered expression plastered on his face as he rushes to put his clothes on that's still laying in a puddle on the bedroom floor.

I am dressed and ready in a in under a minute. Thank goodness I took a bath earlier and decided to get dressed in a long-sleeved pants pajama, because if we were to make a run for it in the cold, I would at least find comfort in knowing my body is covered even though Pj's are not made of the thickest material. You never know the true intentions of criminals.

"Who would be so stupid as to attack the house of a Capo?" Domenico mutter under his breath.

If a bunch of skilled guys decided to attack, I don't think the guards would be that hard to kill. Not that they're not skilled, but if three are already dead outside, the other three would be no match for a group of armed guys because we only had six men patrolling tonight.

Domenico never bothered with huge amounts of security because he lived here alone before me and never thought to increase it after I moved in. No guards mean no protection. Which means we're in deep shit and didn't have that much protection to begin with. I just hope the guys get here soon and we make it out alive.

I can literally hear my heart beating in my ears but there's no time to sit and panic when we have to make it out of here unscathed and the only way, we're getting out of here is by ourselves until the guys arrive.

Domenico handed me a gun as we heard glass breaking and falling on the tiled floor. We looked at each other knowing they were inside the house, and we didn't have any time to waste. Luckily, we are only ten minutes away from the base, so help will arrive soon, hopefully.

Domenico walks over to peek through the balcony window to check if he's able to see any movement but confirm he can't see anything happening outside.

Domenico indicate that I must come over to his side as he opens the balcony door. "We won't take any chances, wait here on the balcony and I will go check what's going on in the rest of the house. I'll come get you when I've established, we're safe. I won't let them get into the bedroom. You have to hide" Domenico says as he indicates for me to head out onto the balcony.

"Do you think I'm stupid?! We go together even if we die together, but I'm not letting you go alone while I sit here and stress if you're still alive or not and besides, what if they get me here and I'm alone" I say starting to get pissed at his suggestion.

"You are carrying my child and I wa..." is the last he says before out bedroom door is shot open as we both fall to the ground and start to shoot as soon as three people came into our line of sight. All three of them fell on the ground.

Domenico quickly walked to the bodies and disarmed them, then confirmed they were all dead, while I peeked into the hallway to make sure nobody would be coming after us. He gave me a signal to which I rushed over and helped him hide some of the weapons under the bed, just in case someone stumbled into our bedroom and we both take an extra gun for protection.

The way we were working together seamlessly, makes it seem like we have done this countless times before, but this is only my second rodeo.

A sense of calm encapsulates my mind and body, as I feel the tenseness, I have been harboring because of this whole situation we find ourselves in, dissipating from my body. It is something inexplicable, as if your soul is readying you for whatever may come and you are not petrified, come what may.

The same out of body experience I got when we were attacked on the way home is the same way I'm feeling now, but a bit heightened.

Domenico indicates for me to follow him as we go down the hallway. We ran down to the bedroom on the opposite side of the corridor for protection. Luckily no-one is hiding in here.

After a few seconds we hear footsteps rushing up the stairs. Domenico held up two fingers indicating there were two people heading up the staircase. Domenico is standing at an angle in the doorway of the bedroom checking their movement as I stood behind the bedroom door just in case.

Domenico fired two shots and I could hear both bodies fall to the floor. I am pulled by the arm from behind the bedroom door and then walked behind him until we reach the top of the stairs. I tucked my gun which was smaller in under my sports bra for a backup as the pajama top is very loose and it won't be noticeable for anyone to see. Thank goodness I have some breasts to hide them in.

We then proceed to make our way downstairs as silently possible. We can see cars arriving because of the lights blinking and the sound of tires on the gravel a few meters away from the house. I hope that is the guys, but we cannot be too sure until Domenico checks.

We reach the middle of the stairs when we hear guns being cocked and pulled on us. We are surrounded by eight men in a blink of an eye. It seems I do not know our house if they could hide without me noticing them, or they are just freaking good at whatever they do.

"Well, Well, if it isn't the Capo himself" a guy with skin with lesions from all the teenage acne he had, but most of it is covered with beard even though it's still visible. You can see he's a middle-aged guy, probably in his forties with a small pot belly and huge muscly arms and ugly yellow teeth.

Domenico pull me to his side "Who are you?" Domenico asked.

"Good question" yellow teeth said, "but there's no time for explanations. Boss won't be waiting forever. Guys, tie them up and take them to the Van. Oh, and don't worry about your guys coming, they won't get here for" he looks at his watch and smirk looking back at us "another 30 minutes and by the time they get here we will be gone" he says as he walks out.

We are blindfolded, our hands are tied and a few minutes later we are both thrown into the back of a panel van. I could make out three different voices speaking Spanish that is also with us in the Van.

I think my body is coming off it's high from the adrenalin because I am starting to feel the cold and being tied up with and blindfolded doesn't better the situation.

I don't want to speak or ask anything because I don't want to provoke any of them. In the beginning I thought that Domenico's men looked dangerous, but these men look vicious. So, I'll rather stick to remaining alive.

"Olivia! are you ok?" Domenico asks.

Before I could respond, one of the guys answered "she's fine for now, don't worry. We will give her, her last hoorah before she permanently closes her eyes" he says as all of them burst into laughter while my heart just dropped to the bottom of my stomach.
