It was senior prom night in 1966, and the air was thick with anticipation and excitement. Y/N had spent weeks preparing for this night, carefully selecting the perfect suit and corsage for his date. But as he stood alone under a dimly lit streetlight, smoking a cigarette and clutching a bouquet of flowers, he could feel his heart sinking with disappointment. His date had ditched him, leaving him feeling humiliated and betrayed. To make matters worse, he had a fresh slap mark across his face from his date's angry outburst.

As he stood there, lost in thought, he noticed a figure approaching him from a distance. It was Stevie Nicks, one of the most beautiful girls in school, and she looked just as heartbroken and alone as he did. Y/N had always admired Stevie from afar, but he had never had the courage to approach her before.

Stevie stopped a few feet away from Y/N, and they looked at each other in silence for a moment. They both knew what it was like to be left standing alone on prom night, and they could feel the weight of each other's heartbreak in the air.

Finally, Y/N broke the silence. "Hey, Stevie," he said softly. "Looks like we're both in the same boat tonight."

Stevie nodded, tears glistening in her eyes. "Yeah, I guess so," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

Y/N took a deep breath and made a decision. He couldn't spend the rest of the night feeling sorry for himself. "Listen, Stevie," he said, his voice gaining confidence. "I know this might sound crazy, but...would you be my prom date for the night?"

Stevie looked up at him in surprise, her eyes widening. "Really?" she asked, a hint of hope in her voice.

Y/N nodded, a smile spreading across his face. "Yeah, really. I mean, we're both here, we're both dressed up...why not make the most of it?"

Stevie's face lit up with a smile, and Y/N felt his heart skip a beat. "I'd love to," she said, her voice filled with genuine happiness.

Together, they walked hand in hand into the prom venue, feeling a sense of excitement and joy that they had not felt before. As they danced the night away, Y/N couldn't help but feel grateful that his original date had ditched him. If she hadn't, he never would have had the chance to spend the most memorable prom night of his life with the most beautiful girl he had ever met.
