Around this time people were getting ready for certain variety of things birthday parties, Anniversaries, Halloween, you know the regualr. While me and symone on the other hand we were getting ready to put our friendship to the greatest test of them all. Homecoming some call it freshman prom others call it a waste of time but me I called it a reason to get closer to symone. Homecoming was the 3rd and I had Exactly 2 days to get symone to yes, it wasn't gonna be easy cause of the boyfriend and all but I wasnt gonna let that stop me. So on one of our many lunch dates I aksed symone if she would like to accompany me to homecoming, she looked at me and said "I'm sorry Roland but I'm already going to cross keys homecoming and my momma not gonna lemme go with you unless your name is terrance" I said "its ok" knowing deep down it wasn't. She was the only girl I really wanted to go to homecoming with but not everything can go your way. Ithought to myself so to make things less awkward I changed the subject to some random topic that we would go on to talk about for a good while before the lunch bell actually rang. Then on October 2nd all rotc classes had to participate in the homecoming parade, so me and symone and our fellow rotc classmates marched all the way from the end of the street to the school which was about 1.5 miles long that was nothing. So once we get to the end I got a text from my stepmom reading that she Nor my father could not pick me up so I would have to find a ride home. Symone could see the disappointment on my face so she asked me what was wrong and I told her I needed a ride and she said to ask one of her sisters "great" I thought to myself now I gotta meet Her sisters. To understand this about a week ago her sister yelled at me because I told symone bye after school and I was not ready to face her again. But it was either face her or walk home in 70° degree weather, I saw symone talk to her sister a short one with light brown eyes and high yellow skin tone. I see symone point to me and the sister turned around and looked at me. I couldn't make out Exactly what they were saying but it couldn't have been all that bad. So I walk up to her and introduce myself and politely ask for a ride she shoots me a quick smile and say "yyyeeeeaaaaa" in a nice soft little voice. I laugh as I follow her to what I thought was Her little blue car and in the background I see symone walking with her other sisters both of which are shorter than her. As we I am pointing out the direction of my house to them they symone states that she lives the same way but closer to the home depot. So not only do we go to the same school we are in the same grade we graduate the same year but we live in the same area, how could I possibly loose. That question I would soon find out, October 2nd I ask symone one more time if she is sure about the homecoming and she said she was positive, "fuck it" I thought to my self I'm not going. But that all changed once I got on the bus ride home there was this girl who was sitting in my seat and she knew it by the way I looked at her she looked back and said "can I help you" I said "yes you can That's my seat actually" then she replied with a "well thats weird I didn't see your name on it" and laughed now I thought she was pretty weird to say that and laugh like "ummm are you crazy" which I thought to myself and she asked me "are you going to homecoming" and I told her no and because I didnt have a date she said "I'll go with you" my ears perked up and told her that. I would pay for her ticket and she I would get her a ride and everything and she still sitting in my seat laughing and said "dude its ok already got my ticket, just gimme your number" so I gave her my number and she said ok then ill text you tomorrow I said alrighty then and sat down in the seat next to her this bus ride home would be nothing but awkward stares and laughs. And you know the funny thing ididnt even know her name until the night of homecoming
