"First and foremost, I would like to thank the Kids of the World foundation for hosting this gala..." I zone out from Cameron's address. In my defense I had written and rewritten the damn thing about a million times. I even know the entire timing of it. Needless to say my attention to it is not needed.

My eyes wander around the ballroom inadvertently landing on the Bianchi section. While none of them may be looking at me, I am them. The entire family had some sort of black ensemble on. The color looks so rich on their skin belonging to them and them only. If nothing else could be said about them their air of richness does. They're the family that walks inside and everyone looks at them. Whatever power they have translates everywhere they go. As much as I hate it I have to concede to the way Fabian pulls my eyes. His dominance exudes in his dark suit.

"He's a cute one Lennox," Mom leans down and whispers in my ear. I turn not wanting to encourage her a crumb about my romantic life (if it could even be called that) I would never hear the end of it. "Oh Lennox there's no point in being so shy now. We all saw the way he whisked you to that dance floor. You've been the only thing he's paid attention to all night."

"He's listening to Cameron's speech, he's not paying attention to me." Mom's head is thrown back laughing as hard as I have ever seen. Dad gives us both stern looks to which mom covers her laugh as a cough. "Excuse me. I'm sorry it's just too funny not to laugh. You may think he's listening but every time that you're not looking at him, he's looking at you."

Cameron's address ends shortly. I pick up on a few reactions which seem to be positive. Diane Blackwell smiles, which is the only reaction that actually matters. The founder of the foundation may be inclined to show support in favor of the Dane administration. My mother and father have abandoned me to the dance floor to which my mother just couldn't resist.

My relationship with my mother is a chasm of chaos. Undeniably her and I are at a point that I'm not sure how we'll get from. No matter the difficulty I have always admired her love for my father. They're almost a fairytale book couple, boy meets girl, girl changes his life forever.

"Your parents make such a beautiful couple." Vivvy stands next to me with a glass of what I'm hoping to be grape juice in her hands. "That they do." I clink my glass with hers and we both take a sip.

"Genevieve I really hope that is not what I think it is." Fabian plucks the glass from the blonde's hands. "Fabian come on, Lennox said I could have some." My eyebrows shoot to my forehead. Genevieve's face pleads with mine to go along with it.

"Oh did she now?" His scowl retreats from Genevieve's to mine. "That I did. One glass won't hurt, she's in college. I'm sure you've done much worse at that age." I attempt to snatch the glass from Fabian but he holds it over his head. I'm jumping to try and reach it but it doesn't work. Even as he laughs at me he still maintains the glass in the air.

"Vivvy, here." He hands her the glass after taking a hearty gulp. She pouts but takes the glass. "Go dance and enjoy the rest of the night, I need to have a chat with Ms.Klein." Oh lucky me. Mouthing a thank you to me she saunters off through the ballroom.
