Part 1: Good Mood

Lian was genuinely curious why Yulan was in such a good mood these days.

Yulan would often disappear to visit her fathers quite frequently, but there wasn't anything wrong with that. Lian understood that Yulan had her own family and she was still their daughter. But she couldn't help but wonder why Yulan came back so happy every time she visited her fathers.

It seemed like every time Yulan looked at Lian, a strange light would gleam in her eyes. To Lian, it looked like nothing negative, but as if Yulan had something to tell Lian that she was greatly excited about. Lian still didn't press, as Yulan would tell her when she desired.

Yulan was visiting her fathers, and Lian was staying in the Heavenly Court like she always had. She was roaming around Mu Qing's temple as he and Feng Xin were off on their missions. Lian didn't have much to do, and she just strode around Mu Qing to pass the time. One moment she would be sitting up against a wall in deep thought, another she'd be staring at Mu Qing's large statue. She would enjoy nature in Mu Qing's garden and then lay down on the cold marble floors of the main hall. She didn't hate that she didn't do anything, and it was nice to take a break from occasional missions.

-A-Lian. Yulan activated the communication array between Lian and her.

-Ah, Yu-er, what do you need? Lian replied. She thought that Yulan's voice seemed quite happy.

-Can you come to the forest your A-Die and Baba planted? I'll meet you there. Yulan said. Lian's eyebrows raised a fraction, and she was slightly surprised. It was usually Lian who invited Yulan to come to the forest, yet their roles were now reversed.

-Ah... Sure. Lian replied. Yulan made a sound and cut off the communication array.

Although Lian and Yulan have been together for a while now, Lian still wanted to make herself look the best in front of Yulan today. She traversed back to Feng Xin's temple and changed into nicer clothes. She wore bamboo green robes held together with the waist sash that Yulan made for her, her sleeves and skirts billowing. She let down her hair to its full length, then pinned it up with the hairpin her fathers made and attached some other hair ornaments to it. Half of her long, black hair cascaded down her back like an inky waterfall, half of it lay up in a bun. With a fake arrogant flick of her sleeves, she summoned her sword and flew off to the forest.

As she came upon the forest, she leaped off of her sword and flipped in the air twice before landing nimbly on the ground. Her sword flew into her hand, and she sheathed it. She looked at the area around her, and she began to aimlessly walk. Yulan would find her when she did. They had a random thing for finding each other very quickly when one got lost or wandered off.

Soon, Lian came upon the pond where she and Yulan had fallen in and kissed. A figure clad in crimson robes stood by the water, their back to Lian. They wore silver butterfly jewelry. At first glance, Lian could tell that it was Yulan. Hua Cheng was taller than her, and she stood at an angle where you could see the curve of her chest. She heard Lian's footsteps, and she turned around with a shining smile. She extended a hand out to Lian, the silver ornaments on her wrist lightly tinkling. Lian returned her smile and took Yulan's hand. Good thing Yulan didn't wear an eye patch, or Lian would have freaked out. Yulan's hair was pulled into a very low ponytail, and her boots made her a few centimeters taller than Lian than she usually was. Hand in hand, the two young women began to walk. Yulan led Lian, glancing at her every few steps.

"How do I look?" Yulan asked.

"Very..." Lian said slowly. "Very nice."

The terms "Very nice" weren't enough to describe how eye-catching Yulan was. It was obvious that Yulan had borrowed Hua Cheng's clothes, and she managed to pull the outfit off, equally as dashing as Hua Cheng was. Seeing Yulan in red, Lian couldn't help but blush. Nobody looking at such a beautiful woman would have the urge to kneel and beg Yulan to marry them. Her silver ornaments lightly clinked with every step, and Lian noticed that she had ornaments on her boots, too. She did borrow some of Hua Cheng's clothes.
