My weapon of choice was a double bladed sword staff. The weapon called right to me. As I was inspecting the weapon there was an inscription on it. It read the ripper. I was able separate the two blades and now have two parts instead of an entire staff. I was admiring the whole build of the thing. The blades were blunt. Of course it made sense we don't need to bleed in a place filled with vampires.

"You got a good one." Amelia walked towards me with what seemed like a three pronged hand held sword. "I took the sai. They may be small but they will be useful for close combat."

The weapon was suitable for her small frame. She started to twirl it as if she already has some experience with knives.

"Yoko of course took the katana." She complained.

I looked over Amelia's shoulder to look at Yoko. She seems standoffish. She was also trying out her katana. Even in her 5'5 thin frame the way she held the katana was perfect. Her black bobbed hair only added to the menace she might be. Need to make a mental note. Do not mess with the katana holding lady in the back.

As a kid I used to play with a staff. I was fascinated by the way which we can move it between our hands and twirl it around. Of course back then it was all fun and games. Now we need to use them to protect ourselves.

"So now we will put you into groups and you will fight your partner." Coach mike said.

"What just like that?" I asked surprised. Amelia looked equally surprised as me. I was paired with Yoko. My fucking luck. Well at least Amelia got paired up with Eli.

"Hey Yoko. It's nice to meet you." I said as I approached her. "I heard you are good with the katana. Just a heads up I have never used weapons in my life so go easy on me." I said smiling.

"Oh surely" She said sarcastically. In fact it was the first time I saw her showing some form of expression. "And when the nice little hunters come and attack you or your parent you can ask them to be nice to you too." She said sternly.

"Okay people come to the middle we will duel this out one by one."  Coach mike asked us.

I was confused with the interaction I had with Yoko. But I did not let it show. Everyone was good with the weapon they choose. I was purely surprised when Amelia beat Eli who chose a 30 inch sword. He was big and Amelia was a tiny mouse compared to him. But her techniques were flawless. I was impressed and a little bit scared of her as well. Coach Mike made sure we did not hurt ourselves too much. If one opponent was causing serious harm he would blow the whistle and dismiss the group.

It was my turn with Yoko. I was paying more attention to the crowd than the 5'5 girl in front of  me. I felt everyone had a nervous look about them. As if they knew what Yoko was capable of. Then the whistle blew. As it did I looked at Yoko and did not have time to register that she was running at me.

Her katana came straight to my head and instinctively I held my staff up to prevent the blade slicing my head open. She was strong for having such a slight frame. Heck I was bigger than her. She retracted back and swung the katan horizontally. If I was not fast enough she could have taken my eye out. I stumbled back and fell. She did not stop there as she ran and tried to stab me in the abdomen with her stupid blade. I was feeling angry. This fucking bitch.

As her blade came close to me I pushed it away with my staff. I pushed it hard enough that she stumbled to her left and lost her blade. As I got up she ran towards me in full speed. Instead of her blade she had her fist held high. The whistle  went off. But she did not stop. Everything happened too fast. There was a thump and I felt the sting of her fist on my right jaw. I stumbled and avoided to fall onto the floor. As I steadied myself I could see Eli dragging Yoko away from me and Amelia calling me out.
