•Aria Marino•

My last day working here will be in a week so now I have to break the news to my parents and Luca that Laura and I are moving back to Italy. I think Luca will care but only for Laura and my parents will probably go ballistic on me. It doesn't matter really what I do, even if it's good for me, they usually don't approve.

Laura and I are meeting up with them for breakfast at our favorite restaurant. When we get there, my parents are already there. I was hoping they wouldn't be here yet.

"You're late Aria!" My mother complained as soon as we sat down. We set the meeting time for 10 am. It's 9:50 right now. How am I late? And Laura is technically late too how is it all my fault?

"We're ten minutes early. How is that late?" I reply angrily. She rolls her eyes and I look over to my father. He gives me a look that says 'don't mess with her today.' Seems like it's already been a rough morning for them.

"So what did you want to talk to us about?" Luca asks, sounding disinterested as he looked through the menu.

"Well, I have been officially reassigned to Interpol. To their office in Sicily, in Italy. Which means that officially after this week, I will be moving back to Italy." I said excitedly and they stared at me like I'm insane. Or getting there anyways.

"And I'm moving with her." Laura announced. Their jaws quite literally dropped. My mother had a look of fury in her eyes, as did Luca. My father was just shocked, but showed no signs of anger.

Luca seemed angry but as always, it was my mother who spoke up. "No the fuck you're not, Laura. You're staying here." She spoke angrily but quietly so as to not attract any attention.

"If she wants to go then she'll go. No one is forcing her." I said, which made her angrier - if even possible. Luca wasn't very angry, and at this point he just seemed upset.

"But shouldn't she listen to other people's opinions before deciding if this is what she should do?" Luca spoke and Laura gave him a dirty look. Laura has always been very big on not giving a shit about other peoples opinions. Feelings yes but opinions no. So if Luca would have just said 'I'm upset you're leaving' She would have understood but instead he said that she should be listening to other people about a decision that will ultimately affect her the most.

And I knew that it was bothering her a lot.

"It doesn't matter what she wants to do right now, she's staying here. I couldn't care less if Aria leaves, but Laura is staying." My mother says aggressively and my father looks at her in shock for what she said about me. I'm not surprised at all so I just make eye contact with her, both of us not daring to look away.

She breaks eye contact first and I smile. "Fermati! Non è una tua decisione se non la mia." Laura says upset as she was tired of us arguing and them not being supportive in this. (Stop! It's none of your decision but mine.)

My mother stands up and walks away, Luca and my father following behind her. I sigh and relax into my chair. I could tell Laura was more relaxed now that they were gone but she's still bothered.

"So breakfast?" I ask and she nods and we go through the menu.

Now I have to tell the team that I'm leaving which even though I know they'll be supportive, I'm still nervous to tell them. Izzy basically already knows and she's supportive. Greyson will probably be relieved. Mendoza, my unit chief already knows since he's literally my boss. And Callahan, we'll he's probably gonna care a little. We're good friends most of the time.
