The Apocolypse Effect

"I found Kol, sort of!" Buffy declared as she slipped off her heels and plastered herself on the couch, opposite Klaus who was pulling out his paint supplies.

Klaus grumbled in annoyance "What has my little brother gone and done now?" He had spent the past two hours searching for Kol, only for his brother to be nowhere about and Elijah hadn't exactly been any help.

The only person who probably could tell them where Kol would be lurking was in a mystical trance, unable to be reached without putting his unborn child at risk.

Moving to sit beside her on the couch, Klaus lifted up her legs, laying them across his lap, his fingers rubbing her swollen ankles.

Buffy moaned in slight relief at the feeling before quickly refocusing "He killed all the vampires you made for Jeremy and now wants to cut his arms off. Oh, and he has Damon, who is probably being compelled to kill my brother right now."

"Oh bloody hell."

"Yep. Now as much as I am totally Team Kol about the whole apocalypse thing, not so big with my baby brother being torn to shreds and murdered."

Klaus inhaled sharply at her words before shaking his head in anger, not at her, just at the utter stupidity of his baby brother "I will speak to my brother..."

"Just get him to back off Jer, please. Otherwise, I am stealing a dagger." She warned her eyes flashing dangerously.

Watching her closely, Klaus quirked an amused brow at her dagger comment. He could see it all over her face. she was serious. It was actually quite nice seeing that darkness in her, it made him want to grab her and take her right to his bedroom, but since her admission when he showed her the nursery, he couldn't risk it.

Not now.

Tapping her leg to reassure her, he reached forward grabbing his phone off the table and quickly dialed Kol's number.

Given that Kol had sent him to voicemail for the past hour, him actually answering on the first ring was a little shocking.

"And he does pick up my calls!" Klaus taunted "And here I thought you were avoiding me, Little Brother. Just two days home, and I'm told you've already gone and made a mess."

"Come on, Nik. I was only having some fun."

"Those vampires were for my hunter. A hunter who happens to be related to the mother of my unborn child. You can see the tough spot you have put me." Klaus hissed.

Kol laughed "Buffy darling, remember to take the dog on his afternoon walk, he sounds a bit skittish!"


Despite the fact she tried not to, Buffy snorted.


Damn Kol for having the same sense of humor as her!


Clearly though, despite her trying to be as quiet as possible Kol was able to catch her little snickers "Ha! She finds me amusing Nik! I also know she happens to agree with me so listen to the boss brother."


Klaus clenched his jaw tightly before shooting Buffy a sharp look as she started laughing again "Well Kol, as torturous as it is to watch you bond with the mother of my child, enough of this."

Buffy leaned forward so she could speak directly to the phone "Back off my brother. He already told you he was willing to stop. We don't want to set into motion the end of the world. So back off, or you will be a daggered jack in the box!"

There was a brief moment of silence followed by Kol letting out an amused breath "I must say I much more enjoying you threatening to dagger me than my brother darling." He teased cueing Buffy to roll her eyes.

"And to that an extreme ew!"

As Buffy's face scutched up in disgust, Klaus bit the inside his cheek to keep from smiling at her utter revulsion with Kol's flirting attempts. Quickly focusing back on his troublesome little brother, he sighed in exasperation "Kol, where is Damon Salvatore?"

"I have him, a good and proper beating just for old time's sake."

"Yes." Klaus hissed clearly done with this conversation, he just needed to get his idiot brother under control and be done with this "Well, you've had your fun. Now let him go and come home. Avoid any more trouble, or you'll find yourself back in a...what was it love?" He paused turning to Buffy.

Buffy chuckled "Jack in a box."
