For the first time in centuries, Katherine and Rebekah were alone.

The one time they had been left alone during that time in England 500 years ago had been brief. Rebekah had walked into the library looking for Mary only to find the human girl reading a book on the window seal, her long curls running down her back. She just hadn't found the human girl interesting and given that Klaus had been planning on sacrificing her, she hadn't bothered trying to get to know her.

The only thing interesting about Katherine to Rebekah was how long she had managed to avoid getting detected by Nik.

500 years of running from Klaus Mikaelson was an impressive feat.

Letting out a small moan as she took a bit of the apple pie in front of her, Rebekah allowed her eyes to focus on the miserable-looking Katherine "You know, it's funny. I've always been a little envious of the legend that is Katherine Pierce. The way that you could wrap men around your little finger. You could have Elijah in the palm of your hand given the face you carry but you chose to mess with my sister. Mari hated Klaus, yes, but she betrayed all of us for you." Despite planning her vengeance for centuries, Marianna hadn't just walked away from him, she had walked out on all of them.

They hadn't seen her again for a century and she had literally shown up to kidnap Kol before bolting.

"Why my sister? You know she comes back to us when she grows bored of you. Plus, if any sibling could barter a deal for your freedom, it wouldn't be Mari. Nik would just laugh if she asked then tell her to sod off." When she was met with nothing but silence from the doppelgänger, Rebekah let out a small amused breath "Is that why you compelled this town into liking you? Prepared for when once again she comes home to us."

"The only thing that kept her going back to your insane family was Kol. Newsflash, he is dust in a jar now."

Ignoring the dig about her brother's murder, Rebekah just smirked "Keep thinking that. I wonder though, she and Elijah were in contact quite a lot before Kol's demise. She and Nik are on the mend and we lost two brothers. Loss brings a family back together. She left with you because she was mad at Nik, I wonder what would happen if they make good. Will you be left in the dust, just like you were every time that dagger was out of Kol's chest?"

Maybe digging at Katherine's insecurity when it came to the Mikaelson vow was petty, but alas Rebekah didn't care. Bringing up Kol's death had her wanting to make Katherine squirm and panic.

The fact was, it was all true too.

A Mikaelson would always back a Mikaelson.

Clenching her jaw tightly as she ground her teeth, Katherine focused down on her finger which was slowly stitching back to the stump Buffy had left her with "You know you can't split The Cure with Buffy right?" She asked.

Rebekah let out a loud laugh at the very desperate attempt at changing the subject "Sorry, did I hit a nerve?" She taunted before taking another bite of her pie "You don't know anything about B. Come on Katherine, do you really think she would want to take The Cure? To go back to being The Slayer with a life expectance of a cheap pair of shoes?"

Katherine paused, she had to give Rebekah that. It was a very fair argument. Being just a normal Slayer again wasn't a cure, it was like being re-cursed, tossed back into performing a duty that would likely, get Buffy killed before she hit 23.

The fact that she had lived to 20 as a regular Slayer was already a miracle.

However, while it made sense why Buffy of all people wouldn't want The Cure, Katherine just couldn't fathom why in any world Rebekah Mikaelson would consider taking it "But you want to take it? Are you really that dumb or just a natural blonde?"
