MYSTIC FALLS: PRESENT DAY

Tipping the bottle of gin upside down Rebekah pouted slightly before glancing over at Buffy. The two girls had moved to lie side by side on the floor in the closet, surrounded by clothes and empty bottles of various alcohols.

"Oh look empty." Tossing the bottle to the side, she crawled across the floor making her way over to the cupboard in hopes of finding some more booze "We are in need of another bottle."

"Pizza." Buffy mumbled softly as she rolled onto her side, clutching the almost empty bottle of bourbon to her chest, her words slurring slightly.

Rebekah and she had practically wiped out all of the alcohol in the Mikaelson mansion which could explain why the room started to spin as she attempted to pull herself up to her feet.

"Need pizza and more bourbon. Then more happy spinny juice."

"

THE NEW WORLD: A THOUSAND YEARS AGO

"It's a bad idea."

Marianna rolled her eyes as she glanced over at Kol who was tossing an apple up in the air as a way to keep himself entertained while she worked on the spell for Esther.

"Yep, here you are helping." She argued as she shoved him slightly causing him to laugh before ruffling her hair.

"Because you are hopeless without my genius ideas M."

Ignoring his cocky comment, Marianna glanced back down at the grimoires currently surrounding the pair of them as well as Tatia's Slayer's handbook.

Trying to blend spirit magic and demonic energy wasn't exactly a simple task. She had been up for days doing nothing but trying to learn as much about demons as possible.

Picking up her notes, Kol eyed the messy drawing she had made regarding the Original Petrova Doppelganger.

Amara.

"Do you think the original doppelgänger was a Slayer as well?"

Marianna shook her head as she eyed the page he was now writing all over, clearly re-writing some of her notes in regard to Doppelganger's history. Kol had always been more interested in history than herself.

"I doubt it, but I know in Ayana's book it's mentioned that Qetseya used Slayer blood for the immortality elixir."

There was still so much they didn't know when it came to the first attempt at re-creating immortality. Most of the history had been lost and forgotten, surrounded by rumor.

The only solid evidence that existed was the curse that still haunted the Travellers to this very day.

"She was in Greece and as far as I'm aware the Slayer back then was in the old world."

Plus, if Amara had been a Slayer, there was no way Tatia would be one now. Doppelgangers were living replicas, the exact person reborn again and again.

You could never be called twice.

"The Slayer line will be permanently tied to doppelgangers now." Kol argued as he ran his eyes over the spell she was creating. Using an existing Slayer who was already a doppelganger would entangle that demonic energy with all Doppelgangers that followed Tatia.

Marianna couldn't help but nod in agreement, it was likely that Doppelgangers would appear in places where the Slayer was stationed.

Similar demonic energy would always be drawn together.

Hence why demons always circled back to the Hellmouths or Hellgates.

"True, but the energy will likely be in the background of their blood. You cannot be called twice and they are double. Any doppelgängers in the future will simply have the remnants. Untouched demonic energy within them. Probably making them more susceptible to other supernatural transformation."

While another doppelganger could never be The Slayer, that potential in their blood could very well transform them into something else.

Especially, given that the Petrova family did carry Traveler blood within them.
