The Feeling

Today was the day.

By tonight, Buffy would officially be a hybrid completely. Her life no longer tied to Klaus.

And while she knew Bonnie was determined to bring up her upcoming torture fest ritual, Buffy had so far managed to avoid the topic entirely as they did their daily catch-up over the phone.

"Abby and I are going to work on the garden." Bonnie told her and Buffy couldn't help but smile at the joyful tone in her voice.

It was nice to hear Bonnie somewhat sounding hopeful again after everything.

"The herbs are really helping so she doesn't feel so nullified around nature. It's not the connection she had before but at least it's not nothing."

Leaning back against her mother's headstone, Buffy lowered her sketchbook to her lap "I'm of the glad that things are getting easier."

Bonnie chuckled slightly as she shifted in her seat, the leather shifting around her echoing through the phone "Me too. The transition's been hard, but I think she'll be ok. It'll give us a chance to work things through. By the way...I am coming"

Bonnie's sudden declaration caused Buffy's eyes to widen.

NO!

She in no way wanted to drag Bonnie away from her mother right now.

Bonnie needed this time with Abby so they could figure out how their relationship worked moving forward.

Her transforming...well technically being magically tortured in a ritual to transform into a full demonic hybrid was not worth disrupting that.

No way!

"Bonnie no."

Bonnie sighed, concern and exhaustion practically vibrating through the phone. Just like Buffy, she hadn't been able to sleep following the list of warnings Willow had sent them.

This ritual was not going to be pretty for Buffy.

Bonnie was determined to be there to support Buffy through it.

They always supported each other, through thick and thin, it was how they worked.

"Buffy you are going to be literally tortured today with insane dark magic. There is no way I am not being there."

Despite the fact, Bonnie's resolve to be there to help her warmed Buffy's heart, she couldn't help but pout "But I threatened to tear apart anyone that dragged you back. I can't tear myself apart Bon! It would be too hard once I ripped off my arms."

Bonnie laughed "You are not dragging me. You are not asking, I am telling you."

"But-"

Sure enough, Bonnie was just as stubborn as her when it came to her protective nature.

Especially, when it came to each other.

"Nope. This is my stubborn voice. You cannot argue with it. I even have my stubborn frown on."

Shaking her head in amusement, Buffy couldn't help but grin widely to the point where her face was starting to hurt.

She did love Bonnie Bennet.

"I hate it but you rock." She laughed before a playful grin covered her lips "Did you get my present?"

It should have arrived today.

Bonnie let out a loud laugh as a loud crinkle of paper filled the line "I did, but seriously, a beeper Buffy?"

Buffy rolled her eyes.

What was it with all of her friends hating on her beepers?

Only Elena and Caroline never complained about them.

Those beepers had literally saved Elena when they were in high school and Caroline just loved being able to summon Buffy with fake 911 messages for surprise shopping days.

Beepers were amazing!

"Hey! You never know!"
