A week had passed since then and Kaveh asked to sneak out together again, which you did with it more memorable than the last time but that was until Mehrak found out. though Kaveh was the king he was given a scolding by his advisor all the while Al Haitham stayed out of it saying all those will reap what they sow, which earned him having a book almost thrown at him by a fuming Kaveh once again. you too had been reprimanded by Mehrak who told you that Kaveh didn't have time to prance around the kingdom with a maid from the gardens, It hurt a little but It made you feel as if you were being made to realize your place once again as you were just a peasant and a maid at that, but you and Kaveh had always been so close despite that with him saying you would always be dear to him no matter how your status was in societies eyes

he valued you over all of that, since he could remember ever since you first met you'd become one of the most Important people In Kaveh's life who was his first friend but more importantly his first love. The King was in love with you and had been since you were children, you had left without seeing him for what he thought was the last time and as he became a teenager did he realize just how much you meant to him. but now you were back in his life although he had no idea if you felt the same way about him and if you didn't he would come to terms with that

Kaveh was currently outside sparing as he traded blows with Al Haitham, they did this from time to time so Kaveh could better Improve his combat skills or just exercise In the mornings

"Hah!"

Al Haitham ducked his head as Kaveh swung his Claymore, but he soon countered with his sword as he started to push him back as Kaveh gritted his teeth. but he soon pushed him

Al Haitham was taken by surprise at Kaveh's sudden burst of power and energy,

"Your Majesty seems more focused!"

Kaveh took a step forward, "I have to! If I wish to protect Sumeru and all those I care about!"

he then rotated as he elbowed Al Haitham back which made him stumble, but Al Haitham regained his footing as he then did a leg sweep which made Kaveh fall to the ground

"I win again," he said

Kaveh let out a sigh, "Alright...Alright"

sweat trailed down their foreheads and barren chests, Kaveh's hair clung to his forehead as he panted before Al Haitham pulled him to his feet while grabbing a towel. just as some Palace maids happened by they quickly left with blushes on their cheeks at the sight of the King

"So....when're you going to tell her" Asked Al Haitham

"Ask who what?"

Al Haitham crossed his arms, "(Y/n), you love her right"

Kaveh's cheeks burned, "I! well...I...."

"All these years and now she's back, why are you hesitating"

Kaveh put his Claymore down, "I don't know...It's complicated,"

Al Haitham let out a subtle sigh, "Is It because you're the king-"

"No! It's not like that, I just...the way I am now there's no way I'm the Ideal man for her, but I want to be"

Kaveh's eyes became downcast, "I'm a king who nearly let his Kingdom fall into ruin and with great debt...not to mention the poison I consume to drown my suffering...If she were to know the me now, I'd greatly disappoint her"

Al Haitham sheathed his sword, "Keep telling yourself that, If I were you I'd have gone mad"

"What do you know? you've never been In love before" said Kaveh

"I have not"

Kaveh ran a hand through his blonde locks, he then grunted In frustration "I'm sorry...I didn't mean for It to come off like that,"

Al Haitham put up a hand, "It's fine, I don't need the King apologizing to me repeatedly"

"Anyway, you'd best figure that out for yourself I'll take my leave now"

he bowed to Kaveh before taking his leave, as Kaveh wiped the sweat from his brow's all the while his eyes focused on the blue sky above as he started to wonder what if.
