You awoke In the morning turning over In bed remembering that Kaveh wasn't In Sumeru, he was probably halfway to Natlan by now of course but you hoped he'd gotten some good rest. though last night you awoke to get a drink of water when you saw Layla awake, but It was Nighttime Layla her other self who came out when she was having bouts of Sleepwalking though In the dead of night she was tending to chores that "Daytime" Layla didn't complete before. you of course knew about Layla's problems with sleep walking and lack of sleep but despite asking the royal physician there truly was no cure for the disease if you could call It such
Today was your first day as Regent and so you would be attending Kaveh's court In his place, you were a little nervous but Al Haitham would be there to walk you through the process
you got into the bath that was already prepared not too hot, Mekare and Layla aided you In the bath all the while your hair was also washed all the while you had scented oil combed In. Afterwards your hair was rinsed as Layla poured water onto your head, you shivered and took in a breath after It was finished, afterwards you left the bath to get dressed and today It was advised that you dress a little more opulently for Court as It would be your first day as Regent
"Isn't what I usually wear enough?" you asked
Madam Faruzan brushed your hair aside, "Normally yes but now all eyes are on you"
"Alright"
Madam Faruzan motioned Layla and Mekare over so they could finish dolling you up, all the while you chose something comfortable but still of course give the feel for Regent

After you finished getting dressed into your attire, you slipped on your shoes as you put on your last few bracelets before preparing to leave your bedroom chambers, but before you could leave Madam Faruzan quickly brought your crown over placing it atop your head
you smiled, "Oh, Thank you"
"Now then the court awaits" she said
you picked up your skirts as you left your room with Layla following behind sleepily as she tried keeping herself awake, as you made the way to the throne room where it was already bustling and upon hearing the noise outside you started to feel nervous just then...
*Ahem*
you turned to see Al Haitham, "Al Haitham you're here"
he bowed, "Yes, and the court is waiting"
just then Mehrak came to announce your arrival as everyone In the room quickly quieted down, the doors opened as you stepped inside the room all members of the court bowed to you
you gave each of them a look of acknowledgement as you smiled, and once you reached Kaveh's throne you fixed your skirts before you swiftly sat down upon the cushion
you then gestured everyone to rise, "Thank you all for gathering today"
Al Haitham came to stand beside you, "Now if your Majesty would call the court to order"
you nodded, "Oh alright"
you folded your hands and stood back up, "Now, the Court may proceed"
one of the members of Kaveh's Council was the first to speak up, "Your Majesty, I'd first like to bring a pressing matter to your attention it's to do with the Kingdom's Disaster relief"
"I see, may I see the written plans"
he came forward and handed it to Al Haitham before he gave it to you, and you took a look at the parchment that told of the Kingdom wide disaster relief plans
you furrowed your brows, "These numbers for the rationing...how can this be right?"
Al Haitham took a look as he did the math In his head, "It seems...that's correct"
you stood up, "there's not enough...Is the Minister of Kingdom resources present?"
he rose, "Yes your Majesty"
"Sir, I'd like you to double this amount to make sure that everyone can get what they need for food In the case of a disaster, these numbers are outrageous"
he started, "b...but that is how It's always been"
you let out a sigh, "I understand, but I know his Majesty would agree with my thinking and In fact he'd suggest we open the palace storage to give what the people need from there...so I have an Idea, I myself will go help distribute what is needed"
Madam Faruzan gave a quiet sound of approval, you then went back to sit down on the throne as the Minister of Resources agreed to the terms before the next matter was brought to you.
