It's been a few days since I had to borrow Jordan's gym clothes and I haven't yet given them back to him. I know I should but I love how they smell of him, it makes me feel comforted when I snuggle up with them. Okay that sounds creepy but this is as close as I can get to him. I feel like I have a perfectly good excuse and that's because I have had a phone call from my family lawyer. They've told me that there's a date for the court case to begin. I feel numb. It's been a long time coming and even though I should feel good about it, I'm absolutely petrified. I'm going to have to face the attackers for ever how long and what if the end result isn't what we're all hoping for. It isn't for a few weeks anyway, so I'm going to focus on everything else as much as possible until then.
"Maddie, you in there, babe?" Joe's voice booms from the other side of the front door. I walk as fast as I can to open the door to him. He walks in before I even say welcome which I've become accustomed to.

"I have a birthday party and I have to take my plus one. Would you go with me?" My mouth forms the O-face. "Whose birthday is it?" He smiles, devilish. "My bandmate, Donnie." Right, oh that means a certain dark haired Knight will be there too. "When is it?" He chuckles. "This Saturday night. So, what's the answer?" Before I even get to speak, he picks me up and spins us both round making me feel dizzy! "Woah, I haven't said yes yet, ya idiot!" I squeal. He finally puts me down. "If I say yes, what will be expected of us when we're there?" He looks at me like I've got three heads. "Us being a fake couple, what do you think?" I roll my eyes. "It's getting hard being in this fake relationship, Joe. My feelings for him are stronger than ever and I just don't know if I can keep pretending. But I know he won't see me more than a student." I lower my head as the last few months replay in my mind. I feel myself being moved to my room by his firm hands. I watch as he closes my bedroom door. "Sit down, honey." I do as instructed.
"I think we need to have a little conversation about this, don't we?! He positions himself on the bed opposite me. "Remember when we first came up with the idea?" I nod. "How we said to show him what he's missing out on by seeing you with another guy? I've known Jordan since I was just around thirteen, and believe me when I say, he's as crazy about you as you are crazy about him. He doesn't have to say anything but I can tell by just watching him. If you really want to end this then we can but let us just do this one thing. I have a little plan." I sit and stare at him, processing his words. "What's your plan?" I ask. "It's for afterwards on another day." That's not what I was expecting. "So we just carry on like we are when around Jordan and other people?" He nods his head. "How long for?" He ponders for a moment or two. "Hopefully for you, not too much longer." He climbs off the bed pulling me up with him. "I'm starving, let's order something to eat?" His eyes plead. "Yes, what do you want?" I hand my phone to him to look through the online menu. "I'm going to get changed into my pyjamas. Make yourself comfortable."
