Lana was seated in the common room reading a book when an owl approached her with the morning issue of the daily prophet.
Lana broke down in tears the moment she read the headlines:
MERLIN'S GUESTHOUSE BURNT TO THE GROUND !
On Monday night of February 16th, 1976, the infamous Merlin's guesthouse for stranded Witches and Wizards, London, was burnt to the ground by three dark hooded figures. Unfortunately, they were no survivors of this incident.
Tears started running down her face, this means Mrs. Chesterfield .....
She couldn't take it any longer and ran out of the common room , ignoring the concerned calls of her peers.
She immediately went to an isolated classroom and broke down , Mrs.Chesterfield had become a mother figure for the red head.
She still remembers the first time she entered the guesthouse drenched from head to toe by the rain, looking around nervously.
Without wasting any second Mrs.Chesterfield immediately wrapped her in a towel, gave her hot chocolate to calm her nerves and gently asked her what she was doing out alone at this late hour.
She was so engrossed in her thoughts that she didn't notice someone entering and sitting beside her.
She flinched when the person wrapped their arms around her.
She felt safe in their arms
She laid her head on their shoulder as the tears kept falling, the person didn't move away but tightened their arms around her
After a while she calmed down and looked up to see who it was and to her surprise it was her mother
Lily looked down at the girl concerned " Lana are you alright ? " she asked
" I am feeling better now " replied Lana
" That's great ! you want to talk about it ? " asked Lily hesitantly
Not wanting to burden Lily with her problems, Lana shook her head politely
Lily understood and nodded, Knowing Lana was a secretive person and will be taking some time before opening up
" Thank you so much Lily , I think I'll go back to my dorm and lie down for a bit , see you around " said Lana and ran back to her dorm
What she didn't know was when her sleeves went up , Lily saw the word " coward " engraved on her skin, anyone could say it was done by a knife.
Lily immediately grew concerned
