Meredith and Addison were preparing for surgery. Meredith watched with sad eyes as Addison pins her rings to her scrubs and pats them.

In another OR Burke was trying not to freak out when he didn't have one of his lucky scrub caps. He wasn't a superstitious man generally, but when it came to his scrub caps and his pre-surgery rituals he was.
"Are you sure my scrub caps weren't in laundry delivery?" Burke asked one of the scrub nurses as she secured the light to his head.
"I triple-checked." The nurse answered.
"You're sure?" Burke asked her.
"Yeah, I'm sure." The nurse confirmed, as Burke sighed, having an internal panic as she moved his neck causing a few pops.
