Bailey is standing in the hall motionless while everyone and everything moves around her.

No one believes their life will turn out just kind of ok. We all think we're going to be great. And from the day we decide to become surgeons, we are filled with expectation. Derek and Meredith were having one of the most awkward dinners in their entire lives with Cristina and Burke. Burke and Cristina had invited the Derek and Meredith as well as Mark and Eddie to come to their place for dinner. Eddie and Mark turned it down because they had this special date night planned for weeks, Mark had gotten tickets to a musical that was coming into town that Eddie wanted to see so he was taking her out on a "proper date". Usually, the couple spent a lot of time home as a family, or going out for an occasional dinner. According to Eddie it was hard to do a date night where there was a baby at home, but they tried to prioritize their relationship.
But, that meant the Meredith and Derek were left alone to fill the awkward silence of this dinner. Meredith and Derek sat at the small circular table with Burke eating a delicious dinner while Cristina lounged on the counter eating a box of cereal.
This defiantly was a strange sight, and Meredith while she loved Cristina, thought Eddie was lucky, and kind of wished they hadn't been able to come either.
"Meredith, would you like seconds?" Burke asked his girlfriend's best friend.
"I'm great. Maybe Cristina would like some. Cristina would you like some?" Meredith asked her best friend, who was rummaging through the cereal box.
