fiasco

The whole Lucien fiasco passed by. It's been days. The date today is the twentieth of September. Time flew by quickly and the month is nearing its end. Do you know what October means?

"What? Never heard of Magical Shift? Ya live in the dungeons or some'in'?" Uno asked in disbelief. Another unexpected encounter with Uno-senpai.

Lucien was finally able to gather all his remaining courage to go out of his room after several days of having a high fever then also catching up on the lessons he missed, the written works, performance tasks... Lucien thought it was his death.

School works are the death of him, not some goddamned person who loathes him. Being occupied with tasks after his health improved has distracted him over the fact that someone tried to poison him (according to Luce's speculation). Nothing was proven, the staff who gave Lucien his lunch that day left without a trace. Ah, it's just getting more and more complicated! Especially when Luce Valentin started to list down all his complaints in the form of a letter and sent it to the headmaster.

"To our beloved principal Mr. Dire Crowley,

I heard you're incompetent ass were unable to find the cause of Lucien Valentin's food poisoning, are you kidding me? Are you paid to lie about it? We can offer ten times larger than how much they bribed you. Thank you for your efforts and I still do hope you catch the culprit. I look forward to the positive outcomes of your investigation.

Also, I am asking for a favor, please state the following words to the culprit (if ever found) on my behalf:

I swear to Hades I'll sue your ass, my butter cheesecakes ain't giving proteins even if I'm an alumnus in that damned corrupted school so present that filthy face in front of me and I'll hear your wimpy statement on the court!"

That's how Luce Valentin's letter started. The entirety of the letter was sent to Lucien even though it was addressed to the headmaster.

The headmaster's intentions were unknown. What is he trying to prove? What the heck?

Moving on, today is a peaceful day. I think.

Students are obviously scattering around the campus doing something related to the Magical Shift inter-dorm tournament although most students are in their respective dorms. After having that conversation with Uno this morning Lucien quickly bid goodbye to look up information about Magical Shift. Turns out Lucien has played this game with his brothers before but it was introduced to him with the name Spelldrive.

It was mostly Licht who taught Lucien how to play Magical Shift. So Licht, who's a flight player, only taught Lucien about efficient defensive skills and tactics.

It was a memorable experience for the Valentin family but, as Lucien's brother started to build their own family, their bonding time decreased until Lumiere and Lite only had Lucien to accompany them in their lonely times.

Anyway, so it's not by chance that Luce sent him a Magical Shift disk some time ago. It turns out that the inter-dorm tournament is near and Luce was hoping that Lucien would put that disk into good use. Luce also sent a letter inquiring about Lucien's health.

Lucien was rummaging through his cabinet in hopes of finding the disk that was sent to him some time ago. Also, Lucien was thinking about inviting Vil and Leona to play Magical Shift with him. When Lucien was having supplementary lessons with Professor Trein after his fever had gone down he was informed about their not-so-law-abiding behavior.

Lucien has given his thanks and apology.

"It was nothing, what are friends for?" it was that statement from Vil that made Lucien all giddy for hours. Right, he has a friend.

Lucien also heard that the professors received a bag of sweets as an apology.

It was a vague memory, Lucien was playing Magical Shift with his elder brothers but Lite was not there, it was only Lumiere who was held in the arms of their mother.

"Lucien, let's dig a hole and bury this!" the other boy who's the same age as him said with enthusiasm. "I heard dogs bury their treasures," the boy hummed.

"Uhm, okay. We're not dogs though," Lucien said, obedient, but Lucien started to get confused as he was the only one digging.

When it was time for lunch, Luce was busy looking for his disk but got suspicious of Lucien. "You, why do you look like that, huh?"

"like this?" Lucien asked naively.

"Hey, is that my disk?! It's buried but it's so obvious! It's you, wasn't it? You're lucky this time, I swear if I caught you red-handed! I swear!" Luce tried his best as possible not to curse in front of his innocent little brother. Can you believe it, Luce going to attend a boarding school next school year!

"But, I was told that dogs bury their treasures," Lucien mumbled confused.

Licht, who was reading a pocketbook, didn't even spare a glance in their direction. Licht was feeding himself romantic fiction at the sweet age of nine. Then there's Lucifer and Lucius talking about things that the little ones can't comprehend.

"Dad, have you heard? Lucius' campus crush graduated last school year so his grades are failing... it's been hard for him this year because of the lack of motivation to show off and get noticed," Lucifer started the topic.

"What? I told you I don't give a damn about Divus-senpai! No one gives a damn about his dyed hair! Or his stupid kink!" Lucius helplessly and calmly argued.

"Oh my Hades, stop being so defensive, it's not convenient. I didn't even mention a name. Also, it's not like I am unaware of your dirty thoughts about him," Lucifer smirked.

"... Just think about your career," Lucius sneered, "Right, I might as well ask when did I ever had dirty thoughts about Divus-senpai?"

"Oh, there's always an inconvenient spark of lust lingering within your eyes whenever you talk about him," Lucifer stated.

"I shouldn't have asked," Lucius rolled his eyes. The conversation between the two stopped when their younger siblings arrived within a 20-meter radius.

"All right my boys, who enjoyed playing Spelldrive? It's time for lunch," It was the father who prepared lunch.

"It's amazing! Like swish and swoosh! Big bro Lucifer was soooo good!" the words were said yet again by the enthusiastic kid, "I love big bro Lucifer! Of course, I love you the most, Lucien!"

That was the dream Lucien had in the middle of the night. It's a memory he had long forgotten. Lucien missed the days when he had the opportunity to dine with his family. They would talk about random stuff, tease each other, and enjoy the presence of each other.

Unable to get back to sleep, Lucien decided to practice floating the disk within his room. Lucien can't remember the last time he played Magical Shift, he might add this activity to his to-do list. Sooner or later, he'll become too busy to spare any of his brothers' time. Lucien decided that he needed to have an opportunity on the upcoming semester break to play with his brothers, although they might be busy.

It's alright. They have things to do. Lucifer, Lucius, and Luce have their own family, they have their spouses and children who wait for them during holidays. Spend family time or something. Also, Luce is married? Surprising, I know. Anyway, Licht is not seeing anyone, he doesn't seem to plan anything related to marriage and having a family but, we'll see about that.

When Lucien got tired of playing around with the magical disk, he decided to get a warm cup of milk in hopes that it would make him feel sleepy, he's looking forward to tomorrow.
