MIKEY AND I continued our secret rendezvous for months. Our relationship remained hidden from everyone we knew, and it was a consensual agreement between both parties. We thought it was better to keep it that way for everyone's sake. For how long, it depends. The two of us would go on dates like any normal couple would and revisit the places we used to hang out with. It was as though time made itself a rewind and we were back in our youthful days—both were genuinely happy and very much in love.

However, we could no longer return to what we used to be. We had to move forward. Despite the unspoken longing between us, whatever we had in the past was just part of our history and a long-forgotten dream, thus, closing a chapter of our lives.

I stirred awake in the dead of night, feeling stiff and incredibly sore. The entire bedroom was quiet and dim-lit with the moonlight as the only main source. I slowly sat up and glanced to my right.

I saw Mikey lying on his stomach next to me. He was sleeping facedown on the pillow, his short dark hair sprawling over. We both wore nothing but only a thin blanket to cover our nudity, clear evidence of our insatiable thirst for passion from earlier. I blushed as I took a glimpse of a few nail scratches that I made on his back while I was holding onto him tightly during our intimate moments.

I hissed at the sudden ache in my lower body when I tried to move again and lift the blanket. I waited for the pain to subside a little before climbing down the bed, careful enough not to disturb his sleep.

I found Mikey's discarded shirt on the floor and put it on, my nostrils inhaling his masculine perfume. I also stepped into my panties and opened the sliding door to the small veranda to breathe some fresh air.

The night was pleasant and soothing, its cool breeze refreshing. The vast dark sky was very clear and decorated with dozens of tiny bright stars and a full moon at its very center. The temperature was also not as chilly as before since it was almost springtime in a couple of days.

I heard in the news that the cherry blossoms were close to their full bloom this time around. I remembered Keiko asking me to come with her for a cherry blossom viewing together with her family at Ueno Park in Tokyo and I was yet to accept her invitation. Then, there was this annual gala event that I had to attend in a week to represent my family's company as the rightful heiress and CEO. Talk about a burdensome obligation.

"What's the matter? Can't fall asleep?"

I was startled by the raspy voice coming behind me and felt a pair of arms coiled around my waist.

There was a light chuckle. "Sorry. Did I startle you?"

"Hmm. A little."

Mikey put his head on my shoulder and hugged me closely to my back, his dark hair grazing against my exposed skin. Subsequently, his warm lips began to shower my neck with soft, feather-like kisses, making me sigh a quiet moan and lean in his embrace.
