I have returned once again, but not for the final time. We've still got episodes 14 to 16 to go through, so you're not getting rid of me just yet.

"So it turns out there's not much, if any, scientific proof to confirm the presence of a new virus or that a variant exists."

Eun-mi and Yo-han looked up at each other over the coffee table at the news. They weren't shocked, but the confirmation of their worst fear was a bittersweet taste in their mouth.

"And the Infectious Diseases Response Team came to the same conclusion? The doctor you and Ga-on met had nothing; he says they've seen nothing?" Eun-mi asked K, who was busy driving himself back to Ga-on's apartment.

"According to him, back when the Blue House replaced the researchers of the team, that's when they started keeping all new classified key data to themselves. The TF is on edge, and they're filled with terror now, especially with this supposed outbreak. Armed soldiers are controlling everything, according to the doctor." K explained this to the couple.

"So, assumingly, there's no sample of the variant. At least not one that the team has seen." Yo-han added, looking less than pleased about the news.

"The doctor says all he's seen is a peek at a victim's autopsy reports, but the symptoms weren't similar enough to the virus before. Apparently, it's incredibly rare for that many symptoms to come out of a single strain. The only thing they had in common was malnutrition. Most of the victims are the homeless, the beggars, and the elderly, which aligns with all the areas where the supposed virus appeared." K explained this to the couple. He looked up at the rearview mirror to see Ga-on had his headphones in and was listening to something on his phone on repeat. "I have all the copies of paperwork the doctor was able to give me to back up his claims. Many of the victims died after suffering chronic illnesses that stemmed from poor nutrition and hygiene. The good doctor was very passionate while explaining all of this to me and Ga-on."

"Passionate enough to be a witness when we take this to trial?" Yo-han asked his other right-hand man.

"Already sent Eun-mi his information and signed paperwork. Dr. Yoo is ready to put his life on the line for this, and I'm ready to kick Ga-on out of the car and walk home. I'm in the middle of nowhere and everyone around here keeps looking at the car like they're ready to jump me for it." K said in an aggravated tone.

"K, do you need the shark song to calm you down?" Eun-mi asked him with a small smirk on her face.

"I want this crybaby out of my car and to not be in a neighborhood that looks it came out of a thug movie." K complained, not caring if Ga-on heard him or not.

"K, play nice. Just drop him off somewhere close to him and get back here. I won't accept anyone else on my team getting attacked." Yo-han ordered K. He put an arm around Eun-mi's shoulders and lightly pulled his girlfriend into a side hug.
