Can you tell I'm trying to finish this beast? This feels a tiny bit rushed but at the same time...what else are they going to do? Waste more time? Let's go, people!
Also, literally going to burst into tears in the theater as soon as "Run It" comes on. I wanna be done with this fic before the movie comes out.
"So...anyone know any camp songs?"
"I've never been to a camp," Silver said, tapping his chin with a bony finger. "I mean, there's no one to host camps in the future, and Sonic and his team were never into that."
"I've been to a camp," Tails said. "When I was five. Right before I met Sonic. Met some bullies there. I don't really remember the songs."
(Y/n) blinked and the pair winced. "Sorry," Tails said, resting a hand on her arm. "Um...okay, okay. Amy used to sing songs right before a fight. Said it helped her 'get in the zone.' Sonic would sing along sometimes and they'd march in there together like they were going to a school dance or something, except everyone on the dance floor would be shooting at them." The fox straightened his spine, clearing his throat. "Oh, and the saints, go marchin' in, ba ba da ba da bup!"
"Oh, I know this one! I heard them singing it one time!" Silver exclaimed. He and Tails fell into step next to each other, marching in unison as they sang. (Y/n) smiled fondly, following in their steps.

"There's the border." Silver scampered ahead, pausing and bunching his legs before leaping headfirst into the long grasses marking the border between the Freezing and Assassination Zones. He popped his head back out, his teal eyes glowing brightly. "Home sweet home! You...don't have an alfalfa allergy, do you Tails?"
Tails rolled his eyes, strolling into the grass, his bushy tails disappearing into the undergrowth. (Y/n) pushed her way in after him, letting out a startled laugh. "Wow, it's long," she said, parting the grasses to try and locate Tails.
"Boo!" the fox exclaimed, jumping out at her. She yelped, pressing her hand to her chest and stumbling backwards. "Whoops!" He grabbed her arm and dragged her upright, smiling sheepishly. "Sorry. Couldn't help it."
"Little jerk," she said, reaching forward and ruffling the fur atop his head. He made a face but didn't resist, Silver parting the grass, his eyes lifting as if he were grinning.
"Look who I found!" he sang. The assassin disappeared then reappeared next to Tails as Charmy's head poked through the grass, followed by Espio carrying the bee on his shoulders, Vector bringing up the rear.
"(Y/n)!" Charmy exclaimed, pushing off Espio's shoulders and launching himself into the (a/t)'s arms. She laughed, swallowing a pained cry as her arm twinged. Charmy nuzzled her cheek, wrapping his arms around her neck. "I'm so glad you're here!"
"I'm glad to see you, too," she replied, her voice tight. Espio seemed to pick up on this, gently taking the bee from the former immune.
"Are you alright?" the ninja asked quietly. She nodded once, rubbing her arm quickly before dropping her hand.
"We're here to pick up Silver," Tails said. Charmy let out a joyful laugh, reaching for the fox. Tails grinned, reaching to take the bee from Espio and spinning him around, Charmy's laughter mingling with the fox's and filling the small clearing.
"You don't look so good," Vector murmured to (Y/n). "Let's get you back to the safe haven. We can discuss the logistics of transporting Silver there."
"Sounds good," she said, the thought of sitting, maybe sleeping, filling her with relief. Vector offered her a sympathetic smile, straightening to wave to the others.
