Vivian-

I woke up the next morning cuddled into Denis's side as he traced shapes up and down my exposed hip.

"Morning." I smiled at him.

"Morning. And may I be the first to wish you a happy birthday."

I groaned, pulling the covers over my head, hiding from him.

"I was hoping you would forget."

He chuckled.

"You may be the only person in the world that hates birthdays."

"Can we just go back to bed?" I asked hopefully.

He pulled the covers off of me, causing me to groan.

"No, I have big plans for you today."

"No, no big plans." I pleaded.

He chuckled.

"Stop being such a baby. You are eighteen after all."

I pulled the covers back over my head, hiding.

"I will throw you out of this bed." He threatened.

"Go ahead."

He quickly grabbed me by my waist, going to roll me off of the bed, when I wrapped my legs around his waist, causing him to fall with me, leaving us in a tangled laughing mess on the floor.

I stopped laughing when I realized how close we were, our faces inches apart.

My breathing hitched as Denis looked from my eyes to my lips, then back at my eyes.

He started to lean on when his sister opened his door.

"Happy birthday Vivian!" She screamed, causing us both to scramble off of each other.

I bit my lip awkwardly.

"Thank you." I gave her a small smile.

"Dad, Mom, and I are leaving so you have to cook breakfast for her." She ran out, slamming the door.

"Do you wanna...uh get food?" He asked, avoiding eye contact.

"Yeah that sounds good." I nodded, following him down to the kitchen where he got out a few ingredients and began to make pancakes.

"So what are the plans for today?" I raised my eyebrow.

"Well Maddie, James, Cam, Sam, and Ben will be here in an hour."

"You told Maddie the actual date of my birthday?" I yelled.

"Yeah what's so wrong with that?" He laughed amused.

"I've been giving her fake dates for 8 years so she would miss my birthday! She was about to stop trying."

"Everyone deserves a day to celebrate them Vivian."

"I didn't do anything worth celebrating." I rolled my eyes.

"What made you hate birthdays so much?" He chuckled.

"I think you know the answer to that one." I said gruffly.

My tenth birthday was the day that Denis moved away. My parents hadn't told me that his family was leaving until that night because they didn't want me clinging to Denis before he left.
