The night sky over Yas Marina was electric, the weight of the championship pressing down on the entire paddock. This was it—one last race to decide it all. Lewis Hamilton versus Lando Norris. Whoever crossed the line first would be crowned world champion.
In the Mercedes garage, Y/N stood nervously, arms wrapped protectively around their seven-month-old daughter, Ophelia. The baby rested against her chest, eyes fluttering with drowsiness, completely unaware of the history unfolding before her. Y/N, however, could feel her heart racing as she watched Lewis's car roll onto the grid.
She exhaled slowly, pressing a gentle kiss to Ophelia's head. "Daddy's got this," she whispered, even though her own nerves were threatening to take over.
"It's light out and away we go! for the final time in 2024!" Screamed Crofty
Lewis had a brilliant launch, but so did Lando. The two cars were locked in battle from the very first corner. Y/N's fingers tightened around Ophelia's little ones as the race unfolded—lap after lap of intense wheel-to-wheel action.
Toto's voice boomed over the team radio, "Keep it steady, Lewis."
Y/N barely breathed as she watched Lando send a bold move down the inside on Lap 42. Lewis, ever the strategist, anticipated it and cut back under him with pure precision.
"Come on, love," Y/N murmured, swaying slightly as she held Ophelia, who let out a tiny sigh in her sleep.
With ten laps to go, it was a fight to the end. Lando's tires were fading, while Lewis had just enough grip left to pounce. And he did—Lap 58, a masterclass overtake at Turn 6.
The garage erupted as Lewis pulled away. The moment he crossed the line, Y/N's knees nearly buckled with relief.
Lewis Hamilton. Eight-time world champion.
Tears welled in my eyes as the celebrations erupted around her. She looked down at Ophelia, still fast asleep despite the chaos. Smiling, she whispered, "Daddy did it, baby."
The podium celebrations were wild, but Y/N's heart melted when Lewis stepped off the stage and came straight to them. He was drenched in champagne, grinning ear to ear as he reached for his daughter.
"Hey, princess," he murmured, taking Ophelia carefully into his arms. She stirred slightly, blinking up at him with sleepy eyes.
Y/N laughed softly. "She slept through the whole thing."
Lewis chuckled, pressing a kiss to Ophelia's forehead before pulling Y/N into a tight embrace. "You kept her safe. You kept me going."
Lewis exhaled, the weight of years of sacrifice, doubt, and perseverance crashing over him at once. He had chased this moment for so long, endured setbacks, fought against the odds. And now, standing here, with his family in his arms, he realized—this was bigger than just a title.
This was legacy.
Toto and the Mercedes team were still celebrating, but there was an unspoken understanding between them. They knew what was coming next. He had given them everything. Now, it was time for something new.
Turning to the cameras for one last interview as a Mercedes champion, Lewis took a deep breath.
"This has been an incredible journey. Mercedes has been my family, and I'll always be grateful for the years we've spent together. But..." He glanced down at Y/N, then at the sleeping baby in his arms. "It's time for a new challenge."
The reporters leaned in, holding their breath.
"Next year, I'll be racing for Ferrari."
The world seemed to pause. Gasps. Shock. And then, an explosion of questions. The biggest transfer in Formula 1 history was official.
Y/N smiled softly, squeezing his arm. She knew this wasn't just about racing. It was about proving, once again, that he could conquer any challenge.
As Lewis looked out at the paddock, at the flashing cameras, at the place where he had made history, he felt nothing but peace. He had cemented his legacy. He had done the impossible.
And now, the next chapter awaited.
Lewis Hamilton, eight-time world champion. The greatest of all time. And soon... a Ferrari driver.
A/N : guess who's back? Back again. Jesus I forgot about this story I am so sorry 😭
