Lail

"Look Lail" My sister laughed dancing around

"You dance like a white girl," Matteo said laughing and putting his hair in a ponytail

She stopped and flicked both of us off. I passed the joint to Laila and she hit it while still dancing.

"How long are you staying?" I asked Matteo

"Lail don't ask him that. Let's just live in the moment like grandma taught us" she said lying down and staring at the ceiling "The three of us are back together. Like we're supposed to be" I looked at Matteo and he smiled nodding his head and taking the joint from Laila "Hey!"

"Shut up twerp"

I looked at my siblings and started laughing. Laila looked at me and smiled "You high?"

"No" I shook my head

Matteo looked at Laila "He's high"

"As fuck" she said and they both started laughing

I held out my pinky and Matteo threw his head back laughing "Lail come on we haven't done that shit since we were like 11"

Laila sat up and put our pinkies together "Come on Teo" she said fake pouting. He sighed putting his pinky with ours and Lail smiled making him smile "Three amigos?"

"I'm not saying it" Matteo rolled his eyes

"Three amigos," I said looking at Matteo

"Three amigos" he mumbled

"You guys should at least open a window," Mama said coming into the room and pulling the joint from my lips. She put it in her mouth smoking it and went over to the window opening it up "Like this"

Laila got up and went over laughing then hugging Mama before Mama handed her the joint again "Don't tell Baba"

"The whole second floor reeks of this shit. He knows" she looked at Matteo "So does Saif"

"I wasn't smoking!"

Mama looked at him and we all started laughing "You are a liar Matteo Mostafa"

"I don't know mama, I didn't see him smoking," Laila said then looked at me

"I didn't either mama"

"Just a room full of lying Mostafa's," she said laughing

The first thing I thought after finding out my sister had passed was 'Thank Allah Mama isn't alone anymore'. I wasn't happy by any means my sister was dead, but I was happy that she didn't have to run anymore, Aurora was safe, and Brandon didn't have to worry about his family anymore. Their deaths were more positive than I liked them to be. Their deaths meant Marco wasn't after them anymore.

Of course, I grieved my sister, I was heartbroken, she was my world. I loved her almost more than anything in this world. Her having a normal death made me happy, it made me happy my sister didn't die by any mafia means.

But finding out Marco had killed my sister was making me feel a rage I hadn't felt in a long time.

Asia was inconsolable, especially with not knowing if Tina was alive or not. I tried to understand Tina as an auntie and not the bitch she is. Asia, Aurora, and Enya loved her, I just didn't understand it. Tina didn't have a maternal bone in her body and didn't give a shit about anything unless it had to do with Sante. But somehow these three thought the ground she walked on was gold.
