It's been a day since Danielle has been asleep. It was about three in the morning when I felt her move around. I was slumped over uncomfortably in a chair, holding her hand and my head resting on her lap.
She sorta freaked when she woke up with the tubes in her nose.
I pressed the nurse button and shortly there after a nurse came rushing in.
"She waking up.!" I exclaimed.
She slowly opened her eyes, and the nurse removed the nose tubes.
The nurse had a small flashlight out examining her eyes. Danielle squinted in annoyance. That's my girl.
"Wake up Sunshine." I said to her.
She gave me a weird look, before the nurse asked her some questions.
"You were in a accident you are in the hospital." She said.
Danielle just looked confused.
"Do you know who you are?" The nurse asked.
"Danielle Marie Sanchez." She said, in a rather groggy voice, still beautiful to me.
"Do you remember what happened?"
She shook her head no.
"I'm so glad you're awake babe." I said grabbing her hand.
She pulled away quickly.
"Who are you?" She asked, in a disgusted tone.
"What- what do you mean?"
"Aren't you a teacher at my school? Why the f*ck are you here?" She asked in frustration.
My stomach dropped.
"What do you mean? You don't remember me?"
"No.." She said in disgust.
"She is experiencing amnesia, this is very typical."
"How much do you remember, Danielle?"
"I remember its summer and I'm starting school, my senior year.."
No.
Next day
"What Danielle is experiencing is very normal."
"Okay doc, but you should have told us." I said in a rather annoyed tone.
Natalie just looked at me. She was just concerned as I was, especially because Danielle doesn't even remember she is pregnant.
"How long do you think this could last?" I asked.
"It could last for weeks, or months, even possibly years."
Natalie and I both looked at eachother.
"Only time can tell, but she is healthy, and the baby is healthy. She needs to know she is expecting, and she should probably go back to what she remembers. Make her feel at ease, especially since she doesn't know about the pregnancy."
