Mr. Downey has been tutoring me for about a month now, and it has been going pretty well.
I walked up to his class for another day of tutoring.
We were reading "The Great Gatsby" and we were discussing it.
"Gatsby just wanted Daisy back." Robert said.
"Yeah, but you can't just win a girl back by throwing parties and such, you have to have balls and go get her!" I said.
"Yeah, but maybe Gatsby was afraid of getting rejected."
"But sometimes you have to go for it."
"Has a boy ever done that for you?" He asked.
"Done what?" I asked
"Has he done something to try to win you over?"
I looked at the clock, trying to hide my embarrassment.
"My ex boyfriend.. never did anything for me. We didn't really end well.I said looking down. Just thinking about him made me feel bad.
He sighed "I'm sorry, I didn't know."
"It's okay. I'm over it.
He sighed. "Hey, why don't we take a break?" He said.
"Um, I normally don't do this, but-- do you want to go get ice cream with me? It'll be fun." He asked biting his lip in hopes I'll agree.

"Sure." I replied.
