Your Point of View

Breath. In, out. Aim, fire. This was your existence. You quickly aimed your sniper at a boss, when a bullet whizzed past your ear. Your gasp was loud, and as you swiveled around to see who it was, all you saw was a whirlwind of blue.

Your eyes drifted in front of you, and you gaped.

The boss was dead.

"Hey, hey, (Y/N), could you help me with this? I don't get it."

You lifted your head, frowning. It was the beginning of class and you were still frustrated. While you were playing GGO (Gun Gale Online), someone stole your chance at a kill. When you ripped your head gear off, you muttered obscenities under your breath, even while you took a shower and brushed your teeth. It seemed today wasn't going well for you. "(Y/n)?" someone said.

You stared into the eyes of a fellow classmate, Nikon. He was a tall fellow, with broad shoulders and muscles. His hair was a deep brown, almost black, and his eyes were the same. The only special about him was the fact that he was the best athlete, and worst student. "What don't you get?" you asked Nikon, grasping his paper. Nikon pointed to problem number one, grimacing. "All of it. Math sucks. I don't even know why I have to take Alegebra 1 anymore. Can't they fail me and move on?"

You cracked a small smile, and then turned to the paper. Oh. It was fairly easy.

1. 63 + |- 14 - 15|- 5

"Look, at this," you told him. "The absolute value is the number inside the lines. It isn't actually a negative, so forget it and treat it regular. So the question is actually, 63 + (14 - 15) -5." Nikon nodded.

"Yeah, and then what?"

"So then you always do the parenthesis first. What 14 - 15?"

"One."

"Alright, so the problem is now, 63 + 1 - 5. So the math on your calculator and you'll get the answer."

Nikon did the math, and his answer came out to be fifty-nine. You patted him in the back and told him he did good.

You sent Nikon on his merry way, looking out the window, waiting for homeroom to start. The courtyard was a large, littered with Sakura trees already in bloom. Pink petals littered the ground, and blew away with the wind. You looked at the sun, and squinted your eyes. So bright. All of a sudden, something brought you out of your meditative state, and you glared at the perpetrator. It was a group of boys, including Nikon, surrounding something. They had their hands up like a gun, pretending to shoot whatever stood in front of them.

A little squeak was heard from the corner you gazed into, and the guys burst into laughter. "Do it again, boss," one boy said to another.

"Alright." The guy put his hand in the gun position from before, and pretended to shoot something again.

The squeak sounded out once again.

You stood up curious as to what they were doing. When you walked over to the boys, you saw a girl, cowering in a corner. She glanced up long enough to lock eyes with you, and you could see her half moon spectacles, and her pretty brown hair. Tears stains covered her cheek, and her arms covered her head as if to ward off the boys.
