7. My Fault

Three different magazines were over the table. In the cover of all them there was a picture of me and Dimitri you know, dancing quite close and next to it was the other pic of me and Levi talking.

Headlines such as The princess is having fun; Not such a good girl and Daddy's favorite got 2 new daddies, made me want to go to my room and hide for the rest of my life. What was wrong with these people?! My dad died two years ago in a car accident with my uncle. They were quite famous designers and everybody loved them; still magazines would not care about our feelings.

They did everything in their power to get some pics and start a fuss, and we couldn't have a normal life because of the stupid rumours.

"Care to explain?" My mom started. Her hazel eyes had dark circles below them, her brown curly hair was in a bun and some strands were loose. The worst part was that she was in her payamas, which means she didn't even bother to fix her appearance. WHICH ALSO MEANS she was too worried about us to even care about her clothes, and that only happens when we are in deep trouble.

Yep, I'm screwed.

Dimitri locked his fingers with mine under the table, and replied with all the seriousness in the world.
"Lizzy, we are so sorry, is not going to happen again. We only wanted to have some fun.."

"Don't you even try to go that way Dimitri." She interrupted raising her voice a bit. "You two know the consequences of having some fun... Look, I know paps use photoshop and invent crazy stories so as to sell more numbers. But here it says that a close source confirmed the relationship. So tell me the truth, are you two dating?"

Silence was the best option in this type of situations. She already knew that we had gone the club so there was no point in lying... Now, on the relationship issue...

The whole idea of the fucking pact was already complicating things. I had to tell everybody the truth. At this rate we wouldn't last a month.
Just when I was going to speak up, Dimitri kicked my leg under the table.

"We are." He said. What? Dude just stop it already. "I regret not telling you before, we were so nervous about it." Mitri continued, looking at me with timid eyes and slightly rosy cheeks. "We have been dating for months. We were hoping to clarify our relationship with an especial dinner, weren't we Kitten?"

"I don't know whats worse," Now she was pacing around the room without even looking at us. "The fact that it's actually true, or the fact that I found out because of seven different magazines"

"Well, if you let me explain it to you mom..."

"You went to a club without my permission again; you even took Cassandra with you!"

"Mom...please..."

"And I have to find out you are dating Dimitri because of a magazine? No... For 7 different fucking magazines?"
"MOM!" I pleaded, but she ignored me and tossed the magazines into the bin.

"I told you already; Cassandra has had enough problems these last months. I trust you to keep her away from trouble, and you go and do this? What I am supposed to do with you?"

"We are so sorry Lizzy, we didn't know about the paps inside the club." Said Dimitri, for the eleventh time in less than an hour.

Some of his tattoos were visible thanks to his white shirt, it was... distracting. The way his biceps stood out when he crossed his arms. The way I knew he wasn't as innocent as he pretended to be in front of my mom. The way his dark hair seemed more like sex hair than usual... Oh, how do I know about his sex hair? You don't want to know how I entered his room while he was going down on a bimbo... Okay, thanks to that memory, my lady boner has calmed down a bit.

"You have to fix this mess, you hear me? I have been answering phone calls all morning; they want answers and are not going to stop until they get them."

"What about Cass and Gabe? They were at the club too!" I whined. Dimitri glared at me, what? If I was going down, they were going to sink with me. They started this mess in the first place.

"I already grounded them, and they accepted their fault."

She sat in front of us again and rubbed her temple. The following minutes we stayed quiet, looking at her, wondering what would happen.

Dimitri was more calm than I had expected. He leaned back at the chair and put his arm at my back. His long fingers rubbed my right shoulder and went up to my neck, the pressure was exquisite. Oh god, the urge to close my eyes due to that simple action were hard to fight.

He always knew when I needed a massage, and the fact that he was trying his best to calm me down, melted my heart. But I know my mom pretty well, and I could see that she already had the solution to our problem, she was just delaying the news to make us feel uneasy.

"Remember the annual charity dinner that Laura always makes?"

Oh, fuck no.

"The one that nobody knows when is going to be? Like, they send you the card the same day that's going to happen? That one?" Dimitri asked wide eyed.

"Yes, it's today."

No mom, please don't.

"You two are going to attend it as a couple, E! News wants the exclusive, so you will talk to them and make things clear."

"Actually it's my entire fault Lizzy. I'm so sorry, she wanted to stay home and watch some movies, but I insisted. Please, it was my fault. Don't punish her for something I did." My friend said and got on his knees next to her, pouting and looking adorable as hell.

It was hard to resist him, even for my mom; Mitri could be incredible charming if he wanted. When we were 12, he had everyone wrapped around his finger with his cute smiles and dimples. Still, his attempts were in vain, because my mom didn't even glance at him.

"But mooooom. I didn't even call Elie to do something for me. Therefore I I can't go." I replied sufficiently.

"What about that dress you designed last month? It's pretty awesome and you will look great." Dimitri suggested.

Seriously dude? Seriously?

"You are not helping me babe."

"So that's it. You can use your dress, which surely will boost your name. And I can find something for Dimitri. Maybe Dior, trust me, you will look handsome." She looked so satisfied with herself; she loved to drive us crazy.

"So you have like... four hours to get ready."

Dimitri raised his hand looking like a kid. "Sorry to interrupt but, don't you remember that I have a competition today? I'm not won't be able to make it."

"See mom! Is not going to look okay if we arrive at different times!"

"Don't worry about that. You will go with Cassandra and her friend. I promise Dimitri will arrive on time" And with that, she went upstairs.
