Dimitri's P.O.V.

I couldn't imagine her being anymore breathtaking that she did today. Maybe it was the lights, or the way she gripped at my hand. Maybe it was how the creamy dress fitted her curves on every right spot, or maybe it was her smile. The smile she gave me as if we were the only two people in the room. The one that would soon fade away when she realized that they were here.

Cassie and my brother helped me to organize this, Levi's dad lent us the place, and Lizzy made the arrangements to send the invitations to every single person into the fashion industry worth mentioning. She didn't accept no as an answer, even when we tried to tell her that Amanda wouldn't like the press to make a fuss.

"But, if you are into this business..." She told me. "You will have to learn how to deal with people you don't like. Is good for us, is good for the company and is good for her. She needs to expand her influence or else this empire will fall down. You understand it, right Dimitri?" She asked me when we were sending out the invitations. Lizzy had dark bags under her eyes and you could see from miles away she was exhausted.

"I understand, Lizzy. But don't you think it's a bit too much? Amanda never knew how to deal with pressure, you've seen it-"

"I know what is best for my daughter, Dimitri. And if you love her as much as you say you do, maybe it's time you start thinking about your future too..."

"I will not leave her."

"I know. And I know you are a great guy. You've grown up here as if you were my own son, and I know she will not leave you either. She needs you, but she also needs to grow. Now if you excuse me." She replied to me distantly, grabbing the bag of muffins from the counter. "The door is open; you should go and pick her up." Lizzy only wanted the best future for her daughters, and I would help her. I would help her even if that meant that Amanda may get angry with me.

But that was before the kiss. That conversation was the same day that our date at the beach, it was when I was determined to talk to her and see if we could figure something out of this shit.

But then we kissed.

We shouldn't have kissed.

"Mitri? Why are they here?" Amanda asked me snapping me out of my thoughts. The twins were two steps away from us, with civil smiles on their faces.

"Cousin." David said bowing his head. "Happy birthday."

"We brought you a gift." Danielle added with a smirk, and gave Amanda a silver box. "It's from the new collection, the biggest size."

Contrary to what I thought, Amanda opened it. Inside, there was a white dress with tiny Swarovski crystals embroiled in in. It was impressive, but even I knew that it wouldn't fit her.

"Thank you, perhaps Cassie can wear it."

"Well, you could wear it too, you would just have to lose... what? 80 pounds?" Danielle replied innocently.

"Maybe you should stick the dress up to your-"

"Don't give them the satisfaction Am." I cut her off hugging her from behind. "They aren't worth it, Kitten." I whispered in her ear, pecking her neck.

"It's easy you see, you just close your mouth and your body will do the work. Well- Now that I think about it... It may be difficult. But don't worry; someday you'll get rid of your fat deposits." Danielle added, her eyes shining with hatred.

"Don't worry about my body, Dimitri takes care of me. Oh, and fact of the day..." Amanda told her getting closer. "You're wearing the ugliest shoes I have ever seen. Now if you excuse us, we will have some fun."

"Kitten, I'll go to the bathroom, okay?"

"I'll wait here." Amanda replied absently. She wasn't the same after talking with the twins, they always knew what to say to upset her and I was more than done with them. I wouldn't start a fight with David or Danielle, but I'd try to talk some sense into them.

Amanda is my best friend, and I'm sick of being the idiot that lets his friend being step onto. Yes, Am was stubborn and hard to get. She wore her pride like an armor and tried not to let other see her hurt, but I knew her confidence was starting to falter and we needed her strong for the show.

Think Dimitri. If you were a spoiled little asshole, where would you be? Even the VIP section is crowded. Where else can they go? Unless- Unless they are with Levi. In that case then... His father's office.

When I went to the office I saw David outside, as if guarding the door.

"Just who I wanted to see... Where's your sister?" I asked him folding my arms so as to not make a mistake. Even though my fist ached for some action, I knew better than just hit him straight in the jaw. I wouldn't make an scandal, not today, and not for a fucking Clare.

"She's busy."

"Look, I need to talk with you two." I replied trying to enter the office, but David got in the way. He wasn't a muscular guy, he was toned, yes. But he couldn't beat me in case he tried. I looked down on him as threatening as I could; thank God I was a few inches taller than him. "If I were you, I would move. You wouldn't like a black eye on your pretty face, would you?"

"You wouldn't enjoy what's happening inside." David said opening the door. "But suit yourself."

"...you won't lie to us, will you Rowell?- Well, well, well... Look who's here." Danielle beamed sitting behind the desk, as if we were her guests. Levi on the other hand, was pacing around the room like mad. His fists were clenched, his eyes bloodshot, his hair a fucking chaos.

"You have to leave, Dimitri. Please. Just- Leave."

"What's going on?"

"Fuck. Just leave!" Levi pleaded me without even meeting my eyes. When I tried to get closer to him, he just stepped away like a wounded and cornered dog. When I turned around, the door was closed and David was nowhere to be seen. This was taking an unexpected turn and I didn't like it.

"You aren't so brave now, are you Rowell?" Danielle asked almost purring; Levi glared at her and didn't say a word. "It's so sad... Your little secret will come out-"

"Enough! This has to end Danielle. You have to stop."

"Shhhh... You wasted a perfect opportunity." She started getting up and walking towards him with a wicked grin. She grabbed his arm and led him to the black leather sofa, where she sat next to him. "Silly me. I was hoping I could influence your choices. But don't worry, we'll work on it."

"What is he talking about Levi? Danielle, what do you want from him?"

"Please don't hate me, it was a mistake!" He half screamed, burying his face on his hands. It felt as if chains tied him to the words he'd spoken. "Please forgive me. This wasn't supposed to happen...I'm so sorry...I'm sorry."

"Oh shut up, will you?" Danielle snapped at him. "After all, I'm sure Dimitri will love this story..."

But God...If I knew what would have happened next, I would have stayed the fuck out of the twin's way.
