15. It's Time For Some Surprises

Dimitri's POV

"Sorry about last night. I mean it." My friend started whilst rubbing his face.

"You need to stop doing that in every party you go to. It's getting old." I threw the pillow to his face, but Levi caught it midair. Last night, he crashed in my house because his parents would be devastated if they saw him like that. Levi's problem has gotten worse during this past year; I used to think he was having fun, living a little, you know, stupid things. But now... it's worrying me.

"Hey mate, what where you sorry about? You know, last night you were apologizing nonstop. You even asked me if I loved Am."

Levi just stretched over the sofa and threw the pillow back to me. He didn't even bother to answer, and I decided not to push it. They had a terrible break up, and I think none of them had got a complete closure and that put us in a weird in between. The first year I had to balance my time with them so that they wouldn't get jealous. And if they saw each other in the halls they would put up a show with their glares and bickering. It gave a lot of juicy gossiping for some magazines.

Something changed in Levi, because he got up and seated on my bed, resting his back on the dark wall. When he was about to speak up; my phone went off.

"Bro, you need to come to the girls' house, they have some news."

"Gabe, you are on speaker, Levi's here."

"Oh- Hello Levi. Getting cozy with my brother, huh?"

"You wish." Levi glared at the phone trying not to smile.

"I don't wish things, I know things. Please don't you dare cheat on Am, she is the best sister in law ever and- Lilo, no, nononono don't do that sweetie! FUCK-"

"That's a bad word Gawbie! Bad, bad boy!"

The cute voice of Amanda's little sister came out through the speaker and we burst out laughing. My poor brother would have a big time trying to stop her from saying that word to Lizzy. And she would definitely kill him if she found her younger daughter swearing.

"Fuck, fucky, what is fuck Gawbie? Gawbieeee."

"Lilo, stop it. Go back to your room sweetie, I'll explain it in a minute... Aaaaaaaanyway," He said in a lower voice. "Bring your ass here in twenty minutes so that Levi has enough time to blow you off. Gotta go, Lilo just woke up. Go and finish your morning routine lovebirds."

"Oh my god, I haven't seen that little minion in a long time. I forgot she repeats everything," Levi said with a smile on his face. But quickly shook his head, trying to focus. "Is he messing around with Cassandra?" he asked shifting to a more serious tone.

"I dunno, he doesn't talk about his relationships." I said getting dressed. "Besides, Cass will destroy him; she is not the type to get a boyfriend, same as Am-"

"About that... I know you are dating... kinda weird if you ask me cuz you don't look like a couple... Look, I need you to promise me one thing. No, don't say anything just listen to me. Try not to sleep with her until you are sure you really want it, okay?"

I stopped dead in my tracks waiting for an explanation but his eyes were fixed on the picture frame that I had on my nightstand; It was a pic of the three of us when we were eleven, we were on the sidewalk with ice cream staining our shirts. After a long pause he got up and got closer to me.

"I mean... she has been only with me and I broke hear heart. I know you will take care of her, it's just-" a loud sigh escaped his lips. "Promise me you will do the things that I couldn't. Promise me you will keep her safe."

Amanda's POV

Amanda, I'm waiting for you. Are you coming?

Yeah... no. Change of plans, I have to babysit my sister so I can't go out.

Well, I can go to your house.

I don't think this is a good idea.

Come on, I can even buy something to eat. One chance, that's all I'm asking for.

Fine. It's in 457 Royale Ave. Bring ice cream. I'm not picky as long as it has chocolate in it.

Well, that was unexpected; since when was I being so nice with a girl that belonged to "the dark side"?

"Well, maybe because you need new friends and she seems nice." My sister whispered to me so that mum couldn't hear.

"Did I say it out loud?"

"Yep."

Great, I need to get a fucking grip and like, ten hours of sleep.

Thank God the meeting ended in... Good terms? Who was I trying to fool? The twins would make everything in their power to stop Cassandra's success. So my sister needed a plan as soon as possible but for that, we needed the brilliant mind of the one who got us into trouble every now and then: we needed Gabe's help.

Mom dropped us home and went back to work; she wouldn't be back till 5pm, so it left us with enough time to figure something out. But when we entered, we were definitely not ready to find Gabe with make up on, singing his heart out to the Little Mermaid. Of course, he was playing out for Lilo, who was giggling nonstop.

"Hey there ladies, enjoying the show?" He asked trying to be sexy but failing miserably. Who would take him seriously with pink lipstick and green eye shadow? Trying to suppress a laugh and with all the authority in the world, Gabe said, "Lilo, stay here and finish the movie, okay? We'll be at the kitchen."

The blonde little girl didn't even bother to look at us, she was too focused on Gabe whom she loved and obeyed like a puppy.

When I was about to go to my room to change into something more comfortable, there was a knock on the door. I rushed thinking it was Hailey or Dimitri and I opened without checking who it was. And let me tell you something, I wasn't ready to meet the self-confident boy in front of me.

The one that haven't been in this house since my dad died...
