Chapter 18

Blood poured from my arm down into the sink but I dug the dagger deeper into my flesh. It felt good to let the blood out. This was the less beautiful side of being a vampire slayer. Our bodies produce too much blood and it really hurts sometimes so we have to get rid of it. Usually I'd keep the blood and give it to Victoria so she could use it for magical purposes or something but I am still so angry with her. She wanted to kill Miyako and still does. I have to protect Miyako from her, my poor Miyako....

My arm started to heal itself. I guess that's enough blood for now.

A little while later I found Miyako sitting at the bottom of the stairs. I sat beside her and asked her what was wrong. She told me that Koneko and Itsuki had taken over her room she didn't seem to happy either. There seemed to be a lot on her mind, I hugged her and stroked her beautiful hair, I tried to make her feel happier but all my efforts seemed to go to waste. She was overwhelmed by everything that was happening yet she couldn't do anything to help.

Koneko must have fainted in the other room and Itsuki loudly blamed Miyako for it. The poor girl burst into tears. I tried to calm her down but Victoria walked up to us. Miyako's tears were burning me badly but I ignored it focused on trying to get Victoria to leave. Victoria glared down at Miyako. I started to feel hatred towards Victoria, couldn't she just leave Miyako alone! She eventually just walked off without saying a word.

Miyako grew tired so I picked her up and carried her to a bedroom. She fell asleep as soon as her eyes closed and I watched her for a while. She was so beautiful just laying there. I reached into my coat and pulled out a pencil and a sketch book. I began to draw her trying to capture her beauty on the paper. I smiled at it. It looked quite cute. She was all snuggled up in her bed and the real her was doing the same, breathing softly as she did.

Suddenly Miyako woke up, I looked over at her "What's wrong Miyako?"

She looked a little scared so I walked over to her and hugged her. She trembled in my arms. "It's ok, I'm here," I whispered.

"I can sense them.... they're here..." she sounded terrified.

"What is here?" I was a little worried. Were there other vampires coming to get her or something? No I'd be able to sense them too and there was no pureblood vampire's near us but.... I could sense a bitten vampire near.

Miyako ran over to the window "Look outside."

I walked over to the window nervously and looked out of it, down in the forest below there were vampire hunters. "Well that's new," I said "why are they here?"

"They're here for me, I know it," she was really scared. I have to protect her from them.

"Don't worry we will protect you," I pulled back my coat to reveal a sheathed sword at my side.

"What do we do .... Do I hide or something," She backed away from the window a little.

"If they are here to hurt you then we fight, and don't even worry about us getting hurt Miyako," I smiled at her trying to calm her "We do this all the time."

"I'm so scared... what do they want with me..."

She wasn't listening at all was she....

Koneko burst into the room pulling Itsuki, who looked half asleep along with her. "Miyako hide with Natasha, we will take care of them, Natasha is in the kitchen," she commanded.

"Alright," Miyako ran off.

"You two come with me," she grabbed Itsuki around the chest and jumped out the window with him. He didn't seem to react at all to it. Poor guy gets put through a lot. I ran up to the window and jumped through it also. It was a long way to the ground but I landed gracefully.
