Yvonne's POV

"Mommy! It's exactly 12 am in the morning here! Do you know what day is it today?" She asked at napatawa naman ako. She's holding her own luggage na de-hila habang nag-aabang kami ng taxi. Kulay blue pa iyon. Well, she hates pink stuffs. Ayaw niya magpa-girl masyado.

"Of-course!" I said.

"What what what?" She asked me at may inilabas ako sa maleta ko at ibinigay sakaniya.

"Happy birthday baby! You're 10 years old now. Hindi ka na baby." Sabi ko at niyakap naman niya ako bago kunin ang gift. "No mommy. Baby mo padin ako kasi forever mo akong baby. Wala ka dapat ibang baby, it depends kung may baby sister or brother na ako." She said at medyo nahilo-hilo naman ako sa sinabi niya.

Binalewala ko nalang iyon at pinanood siyang buksan ang regalo niya. It's a sneakers. Yup, sobrang hilig niya sa sapatos lalo na sa rubber shoes. So I thought that she'll be happy if I buy her one.

"Oh my goodness mommy! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!" She said and jumped in excitement. "Can I wear it now mommy? Can I?" She asked and I nodded. Tinulungan ko naman siyang masuot iyon.

"Kasya ba? Do you like it?" I asked and she nodded. "Super gusto ko to mommy! Salamat! I love you!" She said and hugged me. Napangiti naman agad ako.

"Mommy will be happy if you could speak Filipino more than English baby. Nasa Philippines na tayo, wala na tayo sa America baby." I said and she nodded as a reply.

We often fight lalo na kapag may ginawa siyang mali sa school but when she utter the words "I love you" palagi nalang akong napapangiti. Why? Because she solemn say those words to me.

"Cm'on, may taxi na. Let's go to lola." I said and she held my hand before walking.

"Kamusta na po siya?" I asked the doctor at mukhang hindi magandang balita ang ibibigay niya.

"I'm so sorry to say but since he's not waking up for days, It's confirmed that he's now in coma. And we'll never know if his condition is severe unless he woke up. If he wakes up in months then maybe it's not that severe, but once it became years, I hope you can prepare yourselves." The doctor said at umalis na. Napahawak nalang ako kay mama na naiyak sa tabi ko.

I saw Summer sleeping on the sofa dito sa hospital room. Umupo ako sa tabi ng kama ni papa at hinawakan ang kamay niya. "He'll be fine 'nak. Trust him." Mama said and I kissed his hands.

"Pa, we're here. Birthday ni Summer ngayon, please wake up. We need you. I hope we're not too late dahil baka sisihin ko ang sarili ko kung bakit nangyayare ito sayo habang buhay. Please papa." I whispered. Hindi ko na napigilang mapaiyak.

I can't. I don't want to lose another important man in my life. Not anymore.

"Mommy, I'll leave Summer here first. I have to go to the company." Sabi ko at pinunasan ang luha ko.

"No iha. Hindi ka pwedeng pumunta doon dah-"

"No mom. I can do it. I can handle everything. I owe papa too much kaya ito nalang ang igaganti ko. I can face our problems ma. Don't worry." I said and hugged her.
