(A/N: So...I used part of this idea in a previous story of mine so to some of my readers it may seem familiar 0-0)

It was deep in the dark of the night and everyone was asleep, except for you. You were on the roof of the base, looking up at the stars. You were having a hard time sleeping, especially since tomorrow was your birthday. It would be your first birthday that you celebrated since you arrived, and you were excited. The countless stars twinkled in the night.
It's so peaceful! You think. It's been a while since I've seen some peace here.
You clutch your blanket in your hand. It was chilly outside, especially with the wind quietly whirling around. Occasionally, there would be a large gust of wind that would make your blanket whip wildly in the air, along with your (h/l) (h/c) hair. The wind wasn't helping you get any sleepier, only colder. You sigh and decided to count dead mercenaries in your head to help you fall asleep. Suddenly, another large gust of wind blew at you, this time stronger than you had felt before. It blew the blanket out of your hands.
Oh, crap! You nearly think out loud. You run over to the blanket, trying your best not to wake the others or fall off the roof. It lands near the end of the roof, thankfully. You were about to pick it up when another hand grabbed it. "Eh?!" You look up to see Sniper, without his sunglasses or hat, handing you the blanket. He had a little grin on his face as if slightly amused by your reaction.

"Good evening, Sheila," he greets you as you take the blanket.

"Hey, Sniper," you say back, slightly blushing. You have had a crush on him for a while now and it's gone to the point that one look at him will make you feel weird.

"What are ya doin' here?" He asks you.

"Just looking at the stars," you reply. "What are you doing out here?"

He chuckled and sat down at the edge of the roof. "I 'eard you up here, moite." You sat by him. "I came to check on ya. It's pretty late, ya see? Almost midnight!" Almost midnight?! I've been up here for a long time then, you thought. "I also wanted to make sure that you wouldn't get hurt. This wind's a beast!" As if on cue, another gust of wind blew, not as strong as the last. It was getting colder by the minute and you began to shiver. You put your blanket over you, trying to protect yourself from the wind. Suddenly, Sniper hugs you, which surprises you.

"...?!" You begin to madly blush as you hear his small breaths by your ear. "Sniper?!"

"Just wanna keep ya warm, Sheila. Like I said, this wind's a beast! Winter's comin' soon ya know." Your inner fangirl grows and is almost at the point where it wants to explode. "The stars sure are beautiful, aren't they, Sheila?" You feel yourself slowly becoming tired as you begin to rest your head on his shoulders. You look up at the stars.

"Yeah..." you answer him. Your vision slowly went black.

"Like you," you heard Sniper saying, right before you fall asleep.

Sniper looked down and found you asleep. He smiled and brushed a few strands of hair on your face back. He kissed your cheek and whispered in your ear: "Happy Birthday, Sheila."

The next morning, you found yourself asleep on your own bed, with your blanket wrapped around you.
